who was touched by the red dust vanished including the Saiettas and
the people distributing the powder! No one is left behind except for
the members of the Brooklyn Brigade and the men in the robes. The
villains who vanished Crave,

course of the battle changes, instead of an ensemble of heroes locked
in a war with the darkest powers, the Brooklyn Brigade enters into a
fight for survival with five magi. The
battle rages but the super heroes out-powered the DEMON agents. Three
of the agents, including the man who called himself Demon-Master,
vanished. They pulled small glass baubles crushing them that made
them disappear. One
of the Divas that Horati summoned for the battle heals Cyberpunk
before he disappeared. They
hand two of the demon agents over to PRIMUS. Paladin
hands over the Demon agents trappings to PRIMUS. The trappings from
the other one he hands over to Horati to be analyzed. The trappings
include cloak, hood, gloves, boots, belt, a wand-mace, a tilaka
(forehead jewelry), and a glass bauble in their pocket. On
the way back to the Brooklyn Brigade’s Head Quarters (aka The
Bunker) Paladin stops off at Cleopatra’s Needle and leaves a note
for The Master and the Circle. He considers contacting PRIMUS to be
put in touch with their Wizard division if the (Manhattan) Circle
does not contact them by 6PM. While
Paladin is waiting Cyberpunk travels to the Saietta family mansion.
It does not appear that any members of the family have returned home
after the battle. Cyberpunk teleports in and starts checking the
family computers to learn about their business dealings, he is
looking for their illegal activities. He
emails copies of everything he finds to Paladin but all he finds are
Manfred’s investments in everything from trash collections to
construction companies. At least on the surface it all seems legit
(but Cyberpunk does not have forensic accounting). Cyberpunk
is caught read handed by a girl dressed in black with chalk white
skin. They talk for a moment and Cyberpunk admits to trespassing. She
tells him to leave or she will call the cops. Cyberpunk made a snarky
comment and she blasted him with an Ego Attack. Cyberpunk was
stunned, in fact he was a single point away to zero stun. He was able
to recover before she was able to attack him again, he teleported
away. He made his way back to the Brigade to regroup with the
others. After
6PM Paladin calls Director Canfield. She gave him a very cold
shoulder when he asked about PRIMUS Wizard. Without actually denying
they existed she wanted to know where Paladin heard of them, who told
him, what he was told. The
more aggressive her demands for information the more evasive
Paladin’s answers. She said that the public was not ready to hear
that PRIMUS employed wizard. Paladin pointed out that a area of hell
(The Blight) was in the middle of LA, people knew about magic, and
she needed to get over herself. Director Andrea Canfield then told
Paladin someone would call him and abruptly hung up. While
waiting for the call Horati went into a trance to try to puzzle out
what happened at the battle with the Saietta. Entranced he deduced
that the combatants vanished in a similar way that the thousands who
disappeared during the Exodus did. At
8PM the phone rings. It is a man who identifies himself as Mr.
Eldritch. He and Paladin talked for a while. Paladin says that a lot
of people put their lives on the line trying to help against the
Saiettas. Horati offers his expertise to the PRIMUS Wizards, and
Eldritch said he would be grateful for any help that The Brooklyn
Brigade could offer. The
first olive branch Eldritch offered letting two members of the
Brigade go question one of the DEMON agents they had in custody.
Eldritch will call in the morning with details for the inquisition.
Eldritch will also give Paladin his private phone number. October
25, 2018 Thursday 9:00
AM Mr.
Eldritch calls. He has set up the interrogation for 10:00AM. Two
members of the Brooklyn Brigade can question the DEMON agent for an
hour. Whosoever is selected needs to come to Rykers Island and carry
no weapons or other contraband on them during the questioning. It is
agreed. The
team also decides that after questioning the DEMON agent they will go
by the Saietta mansion and speak to the woman that Cyberpunk
encountered. Paladin thinks with the rest of the family gone this
might be a chance to get her to work with them against DEMON. At
Rykers: Since
none of the Brooklyn Brigade is an experienced or professional
interrogator Paladin and Horati will do the questioning. The
pair will be led to the interrogation room where the DEMON agent is
dressed in an orange jump suit. His hands are cuffed and secured to
the table he is seated at. Paladin
opens simply enough wanting the man’s name. He refuses to answer.
After informing the suspect that having been accused of being
involved with the disappearance of nearly a hundred people this is
likely his last chance to see and talk to pretty much anybody. The
DEMON agent then begins to speak. He unleashes a tirade of threats
and accusations, including telling Paladin that his mother performs
oral sex on beings infernal in hell. Paladin is unimpressed. DEMON
agent tells Paladin / Horati that he pities them for their level of
ignorance. He says that Great Ones will be returning when the stars
are right, inferring that it will be in a year or less, and invites
them to join DEMON and become saved when the Great Ones appear. DEMON
agent claims the Exodus was done by DEMON. He claims that he does not
know where the missing people were sent, nor does he know where the
people banished by the Exodus were sent. He says he does not care.
The spell simply said that those who disappeared were flung into the
abyss for all time. In
order to join DEMON and be among the saved they would need to find
and follow the path laid out in the Livre d'Eibon, a book that Horati
knows a little about. Horati
knows that according to legend the Hyperborean wizard Eibon penned
the book with spells and magical formula to bring ancient god into
our world and additional spells and formulas to destroy them. The
book was written before the fall of Atlantis and was written in High
Hyperborian. There
are no known intact copies of the book in existence. Fragments have
surfaced from time to time throughout the ages having been translated
into Latin, French, and occasionally English. The
DEMON agent claims his Masters have a complete copy. Paladin
questions him about the nature of his gods and their power. DEMON
Agent says that even he was amazed that the Exodus swept beyond the
Earth eliminating even the Green Lantern Corps. The
Great Ones care no more for humans than humans care for ants, why
would DEMON be rewarded for their actions. DEMON Agent replied that
the Great Ones use servitor races and humanity fueled by their own
decadence would become as suitable a servitor as Blood Vampires. [GM
Note: I misspoke, it should have been Star Vampires.] Paladin
further questioned him about vampires, having some experience with
them, and their involvement with the Great Ones. The
DEMON Agent looked at him with pity in his eyes repeating he felt
sorry for Paladin’s ignorance. ‘Vampires are not real.’ The
questioning comes to a close. Paladin
and Horati head over to the Brigade’s HQ and pick up Chrys [he was
late but he did appear!] and Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk leaves his sister
under the care of [NPC] Kismet. At
the Saietta’s house the voice at the gate tells them to go away. It
is only when they offered information on what happened to the rest of
her family that she lets them in. She stands at the top of the
entryway stairs shadowed in the dark of the house speaking to the
heroes on the steps. Chrys
(or was it Horati?) asked to come in but she refused to invite them.
Paladin introduced himself and asked her name. She replied Deslee,
Paladin said it sounded nice and asked its origins. She said that her
name was as much Deslee as his was Paladin. He let the subject drop
and moved on to other matters. The
question of why she wasn’t at the battle was answered by ‘I
didn’t want to’. Horati
suggested (over the mind link) to only give her some of the
information about what happened at the battle. A suggestion the
others agreed with, the only exception being Cyberpunk. He was
tentative in omitting certain details. She
was informed that DEMON took advantage of the Saietta family, using
them as bait, to a banish a large number of super heroes. DEMON was
unsympathetic that it would also banish their Saietta allies. Deslee
told the heroes that they did not need to concern themselves with
DEMON any longer. She has a large family and they will take care of
DEMON now. She also said that since the Brigade were the ones who
told her what happened she owed them. She hates owing anybody
anything, so what do they want? Paladin
said what he wanted was for her and the Brigade to share information.
She agreed but said there would be limits. ‘I will tell you what I
can, when I am able.’ Cyberpunk
is roughtly 26, Deslee is roughly 24. He was very … sympathetic to
her during the conversation (especially after she blasted his mind
the night before). He was needled about being attracted to her by the
group at large. [End
