[LFP] [5e] [Thurs] [930PM EST] DM looking for players for Campaign built for 1e Modules

Hey There, Playing since I was a kid, weekly DM for the last 3 years. I'm looking for players for a campaign comprised of 1st edition modules converted to 5e rules. Looking to have nice balance of character interaction and combat. The opening module is Lvl 1 starting Module: Night's Dark Terror. I'm not huge on session 0. I like to see how the characters grow through their actions and adapt the world to them. Due to my work schedule, I'm looking to run a weeknight game, preferably on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30PM (eastern time). Using Disocrd for A/V. Any interest or questions, I'd love to hear from you.
I'd be down for this. Discord is Kelvin#2303
Hello, I have been playing 5E for about 3 years now and 3.5/pathfinder before that. I like to play most classes/rolls, healer, tank, DPS, melee, ranged, caster, no heavy utility right now, I am playing one every Sunday. I prefer 3-4 hours at a time, but I will take what I can get :) If you are still looking for players, I have a few questions about the game, but we can talk about that on roll20 message or discord voice if you want.

Don't want to discourage you...you can make it work.  I just want to point out a pitfall I ran into when I tried to DM this. 1e is a very different game than 5e.  In 1e, players are hungry for gold and, in 1e, you NEED to adventure to find magic items.  The difference between a vanilla 5th level anything is much worse off than a 5th leveler that adventure and found magic items and gold. In 5e...well...gold is essentially worthless and players don't need to adventure for magic items to be very powerful.  It is just given to them. In addition, the only really viable type of campaign 5e can run is 'Heroic Fantasy'.  1e, modules especially, have a background of 'Gritty Fantasy' usually.  Despite what some people may say...5e does NOT do Gritty Fantasy well....or even at all.   So, it isn't a matter of just 'converting' 1e to 5e...you have to adjust the whole purpose of the module to fit heroic fantasy with gold and magic item discovery not being as important.  It may sound like I am nitpicking...but it really does affect the whole 'mood' of the module and you, as a DM, need to recognise that.  If you don't, you will run into much 'Why are we doing this again?" and "This seems pointless". Wish you the best of luck!  :) p.s. - An example is a (I think a pretty good module but can't remember the name) that is supposed to start with the players clearing a dungeon.  Why?  Well, it is 1e and it is a dungeon that's why!  We need gold and magic and it might be in there!  Converting to 5e you probably will need to have a local Patreon commission them to clear it out for x,y reasons.

Hey Duke Schubelman, perhaps you may already know this, but Night's Dark Terror is actually a BECMI module, not a 1e module.  Just wanted to drop a friendly note because as you may be aware, the monster stats (including HD, special abilities, and XP especially can be drastically different due to the way BECMI views killing of monsters vs. AD&D), the valuation/conversion rate of money, and so on are quite different between BECMI and 1e.  This can also affect your level balancing as well as the expected level range of players for any particular module (i.e. different from what the module may originally specify).  So, you will want to know the correct edition your module is in doing your conversions of the module to a different edition.
