using Roll20 for table top game maps

Hi I am new to the D&D world, my brother in law and nephews want to get into the game. I have a bunch of the essentials in tangible form, but I was curious if it was possible to load in the D&D maps into a Roll20 campaign and simply use that virtual game as the player map instead of drawing everything up by hand?

I did notice it was possible to create my own maps, but for those of specific adventures, is there anything precreated I can import?

PS I did purchase the Icespire Peaks essentials module. But I couldn't find how to import the map.

Obviously you need a digital copy of the map. One can find them online, or scan them if you have a scanner. I think you could have them scanned (might be pricy) by a Kinkos or a UPS type place. I have seen some people photographing board games and uploading them. You Tube has tutorials on everything from Monopoly to building an ICBM, so you could find help there. While it seems to be tied to a few big games, Roll 20 is somewhat system neutral.

The marketplace has some (all?) of the D&D Essential kits: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/search?keywords=Essentials

That is probably the easiest way to go.

As for the Modules, I don't have Icespire so don't know if it's a truly a module or an Add On. The difference being, Modules need to be selected when you create the game, they can't be imported into an existing game. Add ons can be added at any time to existing game. Some of the modules are done as add ons, allowing you to add them to your existing game/campaign.

If it's truly a module, when you create a new game, you'll see the optional modules to the right of where you configure the others stuff:

When you select one of those modules, it'll automatically select the character sheet the module is configured for, etc.

If it's an Add On, from your game's configuration page, third section down from the Launch button you'll see an Add Ons section:

Click on that and a drop down containing all your add ons will display. Select the one you want and click the Add to Game button.

Regardless of whether it's a module or an Add On, the maps will automatically be added to your game and will be found in the usual place maps are found (the Pages section).
