Lava isn't that bad, is it? Twitch idly wondered. I mean, how bad could it be, really? It was possible that Twitch would soon find out. After turning in the corpses of Envy's parents for the bounty and bidding farewell to Envy's brother Erden, the Outcasts followed Sh'Nezz'Tar's beacon in the direction of another shard of The Magic Sword, which appeared to be located somewhere on the continent of Aerenal where the Outcasts found themselves. The beacon led out into the jungle--an untamed wilderness that quickly demonstrated its danger. Giant apes attacked the Outcasts before scattering in fear of the group's deadly powers. Soon after, an enormous beast with a disintegrating gaze--a Nightmare Beast--confronted the group. It, too, fell before the Outcasts' fury. But the beacon led at last to an ancient temple deep within the jungle. Large canine defenders eyed the group warily on their approach. An undead elf, who identified herself as a researcher, greeted the group. Sh'Nezz'Tar led a discussion with the elf, who offered to share information so long as the group allowed her to "study" any items of interest upon their emergence from the temple. While the terms of this "offer" seemed murky to Twitch, the elf volunteered that there were steel predator guardians within the temple's interior past which the elf had been unable to pass. The Outcasts entered the temple and soon confronted the steel defenders. As the elf had described, the constructs used thunderous roars as a key component to their attack. Twitch called upon the powers of The Traveler to cast a zone of silence within the constructs' chamber, which helped to neutralize their attack and allowed the companions to vanquish them. Beyond the steel defenders, the temple offered a series of magical and mechanical tricks and traps. Twitch and Sh'Nezz'Tar, with assistance from Tellian, teamed together to identify and defuse the magical traps, which ultimately led to the group retrieving a magical octahedron from the sarcophagus of a dragonborn. After securing the octahedron in the bag of holding, Twitch continued to burn through her divine powers from the Traveler to defuse more magical traps as the group continued within the temple to yet another chamber. Entering this next chamber, the door slammed behind the group and the floor far below them began to fill with bubbling lava. Could the Outcasts evade this latest trap within this Temple of Doom?
