A Style for the Website That Isn't Blazingly Bright Pink on White?!

This surprise style update is burning out my eyeballs while browsing the forums and doesn't even make any visual distinction between what I've voted on in the suggestions forum.  I have to just click the always hot pink triangle and see if the score goes up or down.  If this change is paving the way for eventual site-wide dark mode is it too much to ask to save it until that dark mode option is also ready to launch alongside it?

Absolutely eye-searing website design.

Literally painful to look at. I cannot imagine that this change to more bright Pink is on purpose?

the hot pink coupled with the font makes me want to vomit.

Seconded, or thirded, all of the above. Please allow options to pick a color scheme for browsing other than this. Anything other than this?

Thank you in advance!

Agreed.
WTF is it with the roll20 management?

"Look at this long list of bugs we need to fix on our website. That looks hard. I know, lets change all the colors for no f@cking reason. That will make people forget about the buggy system!"

August 01 (2 years ago)

Extremely nasty I cant believe they actually thought it was good idea

August 01 (2 years ago)

My eyes hurt, please change

I don't know who thought this new color scheme was a good idea but it is just awful.  I jarring to the eyes.

I think this color scheme is just fine.  It's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be and is still easily readable.

August 01 (2 years ago)

My eyes also hurt, please revert it back and/or allow the people decide to change their color/font - this is horrible and eye straining on a 27 inch monitor 1920x1600

It is EYE CANCER and it REALLY hurts to look at it after a while! And it is not only the main page but the VTT as well! THX Roll20!

Having this PINK color nearly everywhere now... the top navigation not only here but in the marketplace, checkboxes and nearly everything else? Heck, even the styling options in this editor have a pinkish line around them... At first it seems ok, but after a while it REALLY hurts to look at!

And even with the UPVOTE Arrow now in Pink (instead of Blue) you can NO LONGER SEE if you have upvoted a topic or not!

Who the heck in this company has a pink fetish? This look is nauseating. Such a stupid idea to change the look to this.

August 01 (2 years ago)

The new all hot pink design should really be reconsidered. The font is not the best, also. Please.

August 01 (2 years ago)

The new sight design is pretty hard to see clearly with my eyesight condition, I do like the white-pink aestetic but this much white is too much.
Add some more muted tones, a site browsing darkmode or just something for those of us who have eyesight conditions please.

Bruh I hate that they just keep changing the design to be worse, at least give us an option to but black on white or something, these colors are painful.

August 01 (2 years ago)

I'm throwing my hat in on this topic also. Horrible design.

Don't even get me started on the white on white map selection dropdown.

August 01 (2 years ago)

This change is a horrible design. It might be "on brand", but that doesn't make it good. Please either revert or allow customization.

August 01 (2 years ago)

+1 begzillion...

Man, I have been under the impression the site was crashing all day o.O

Does Roll20 have a room filled with chimps to come up with those weird updates?!? -.-

I have to agree, this is bad...even worse than the one we have been suffering with for years. Wow, I thought the look of forums were bad before.

Why the hot pink explosion on bright white? It is painful! Is this intentional, or is it a glitch? Make it stop! I'm a casual user, and this change will make me want to use Roll20 less. Nope, all the nope. I guess the hot pink on white is to mimic the blood in our eyes.

Upvoted.  This new color style is hard to read, especially over a period of time.  Either let users customize colors or give us a few style sheet options to choose from.  For example, the whole point of night mode is to not get blinded by these florescent, bright colors.  Plus, pinks--and this shade in particular--are problematic for folks with color blindness.

Checks date...nope not April fools day....

Wwho is in management that approved this change?

I really hope this is a glitch. No one would intentinally do something like this.
Right?

.......Right?

Actually I worked it out.  It was to test this (taking from announcement):

"We pay particular attention to suggestions that have gained support quickly,..."

I also can't tell what suggested I've upvoted without going the page for it, I am pretty sure those used to have a pink arrow but they are all pink now.

August 02 (2 years ago)

I support this 100%, needs to be reverted. I cannot stand looking at this, even turning on the dark mode slider doesn't help at all its too bright!

I don't like this :-(

These shades of pink have me seeing red.

+1 here. I run text-only games that utilize the forums heavily; this change is a genuine eye-strain for large blocks of text or when viewed for a long period. Basic customization options are going to be needed if this is here to stay.

August 02 (2 years ago)

Roll20 Devs, please, please don't fix what wasn't broken.

August 02 (2 years ago)

This might be the worst design change I've ever seen. It's literally painful to look at. And that's not even getting into the maps page in-game being solid white with WHITE TEXT. Whoever okayed this design change should seriously reconsider their position.

August 02 (2 years ago)

30 up votes within the first 5 hours.

Maybe we'll be able to use the site again one day -.-

I legitimately wonder if they might secretly work for that other VTT company everybody keeps switching to.

August 02 (2 years ago)
My eyes started to hurt within seconds and I keep my screen dim.

i cannot understand the change whatsoever. it is searing, horrible and stylistically inept. How the fuck did this pass quality control? theyre 4 months late for an april fools joke

How can I read my map page titles as a GM?????

Pink I can handle not the map box white on white tags and the white everywhere is way to bright, tone it down please, do it in increments then we can post what works the best for most here.

SIGH

Does anyone know how to find their previous votes anymore?  Anyways, bumping this & adding a comment at least, since I cannot find my votes anymore.

August 02 (2 years ago)

Hard Agree, I can barely see some of the fonts now

It is the same color as the dice in the logo... I believe this is why they use THIS color instead of any other...

If you open the Suggestions Subforum there is an option to filter the topics you have upvoted... but only there! Click on "My Activity" and then on "My Votes"

Is THIS a joke? (yelow marked exclamation mark)

Bloody obnoxious re-design!
Roll20 was never nice to look at but now its outright uncomfortable.

please fix this quickly, I cannot use this sight in this condition. I got a headache within the first 20 minutes of prepping for a game last night and my eyes already hurt again from browsing the forums looking for answers to why this was changed.

August 02 (2 years ago)

+1 (and a million times +1)!

August 02 (2 years ago)
It's like you want to burn our eyes. Please change it back or at least fix it somehow
