I'm checking interest and searching for players who have played D&D 5e and its spinoffs and have felt that something is missing from them - perhaps your immersion is being broken too often by OOC-talk and metagaming, or that PC histories and relationships aren't getting enough attention, or that combat is slow and lacking tension. About me: I've been running and playing RPGs for a very long time in dozens of systems. I practices accents and voices, I read books on screenwriting and characters, and am generally very into the hobby. I've tried D&D 5e a few times and each time I've found it very combat-focused, very rules-dense, limiting, linear, and found the material doesn't care enough about who the PCs *really* are. Suffice it to say, D&D hasn't delivered the thrill of adventure for me - to me it feels like a boardgame and what I prefer are the pacing and cinematics of a movie.
