greetings. My name is cord. and I invite you to join me and my team on a new adventure unlike anything you've seen before. For the past few years we've been running a D&D 5e campaign just called Aylidan season 2. for the second season we attempted to start a grand campaign, (a grand campaign is a D&D game where multiple parties are playing in the same fantasy world, where their actions interact with the world and other players and there were world events where every player came if they could, and the events furthered things happening in the world or the story.) unfortunately this is really hard to pull off by your self especially trying to write a story for multiple parties and keep track of all of them without any help. so our first attempt flopped, but thankfully the party that I DM with my co DM, and partner admin, has still been going strong and we're about to finish the story. Which is why this is here. we would like to re launch the grand campaign, however this time I have years of experience, I am planning and writing way more and each session is like ten times more produced than what it was when we first tried this out. I also have 2 co DM's ready to go to help me keep track of everything and admin the server. the only thing we're missing is you. We need players to fill the parties and DM's willing to host their own parties and work with us to make this an epic story.  speaking of stories, your probably wondering about the details of this game, we play on discord and roll20 we play D&D 5e, however for this season there will be a ton of homebrewed stuff and custom systems, it's getting complicated but don't worry we'll have a easy to follow players manual for you. our games are 100% free, our DM's aren't paid they volunteer because they love the story and the world, and the players and love hosting games for them. this season is space and sci-fi themed. imagine space age like, ships that can explore the solar system but can't get to other systems yet, and also fantasy D&D stuff magic and tech thrown together in one universe. we've event got custom space dragons and space whales lol. we're creating a ton of custom stuff, custom alien races, custom weapons systems custom armors custom ships and ship systems, faction systems and a bunch more.  we are still developing the lore and the story for what each party is actually going to be playing through, but we are several weeks like 1-2 months from finishing season 2 and then there's a month break between seasons. and I'm working on it every day all day so trust me and don't worry I have it covered. However the story will have a focus on factions and political interactions on the scale of an entire solar system. Our groups are slightly more focused on role play, but there is lots of combat and exploration as well. (we once spent like 2 months in a dungeon lol. mainly because my party is really really role play heavy and the combat was set to extra difficult so the fights took a while. hah.) But that's just my group, which is full, there will be other DM's who each have their own styles and other parties who each like different aspects of the game so I'm sure no matter what you enjoy about D&D, you'll find somthing you love.  So anyways now that you know what your signing up for it's time to get into our requirements. we would like our players to be a mature age, so generally 18 plus, but I can make exceptions if there is like a mature 15 year old or something, we have played with kids but, it's on a case by case basses.  we're here to have fun, so please keep it fun, this isn't a place to swear every other word or argue and debate about real life. you can do those things but as long as everyone in the chat is ok with it.  we require a good mic where everyone can understand you, our voice calls are on discord because it's more reliable and easier to communicate with people out of game. so you need to be able to hear us and we need to be able to hear you.  our games are like pg13+ or M  for mature, we don't do excessive gore or uncomfortable descriptions or interactions that draw parallels to stuff in real life that make people upset. again, we're here to play a game and have fun, make friends and enjoy our time together, so that's what all of our games are designed to do, just have fun.  Anyways there's probably something I'm forgetting but if your interested. shoot me a message on roll 20 or reply here and let me know if your interested in being a player or a DM, thanks for reading and hope you enjoy your games. have a good day :) update. here's a little story and a description of some things in the game.  “Greetings all and welcome to the fabulous world of Aylidan. a truly technological masterpiece. Don’t worry about the air pollution, you've got tough lounges right?” The tour robot says as you walk across the street. looking around you can see the under loft is full of people, people of every color and race. They all bustle about their everyday business, some picking up their children from schools, some grabing lunch on break at their jobs, or others like you, walking from bulletin board to bulletin board looking for work.  “Here in the capital city on the sunshine-filled isles of Exandia, you’ll find all the latest in the new and evolving fields of study, a city of comfort, where all your needs are taken care of.” You hear a clicking, buzzing sound as the tour robot whirrs to a stop. The lights in the under loft flicker, and then shut down. You instinctively reach down and pull your flashlight out from your belt holster. Several other people do the same. A moment of silence as though everyone is holding their breath, waiting for the lights to flicker on… pop! The snapping shock of the yellow emergency lights. They dimly light the walkways. A voice comes over the loudspeaker. All residents report to emergency stations, this is not a drill. The streets erupt in chaos, people screaming and running in all directions, one woman carrying a baby bumps into you knocking you to the side. You know that total power failures are a common occurrence, but you're unsure why the automated emergency messaging system activated. You decide to head to the surface, after running up way too many stairs, as the elevators don’t work. You come out onto one of the city's industrial cargo space ports. Off in the distance you can see pillars of smoke. You know what happened. Somebody bombed the wellstone refineries. attacks are also a frequent occurrence as the various nations and factions fight for what little resources are left in this system. After a minute the lights shutter on, you hear a horrible screeching and grinding noise as the ground shakes from the machinery turning back on. Then the familiar sound of engines starting fills the street. The sounds of machinery are common to you, God knows how many different machines keep this city going. You return to your job hunt, you haven’t got enough credit to stay in your container for another week, so you know you’ll need money soon. You see a poster on the wall. “Want to get away and make a difference? Join the A cluster expedition fleet today. Help us build a whole new system, new colonies on terraformed planets, free from pollution and disease, a fresh start for all of us. Sign up today.” that is just a little story describing the start of the campaign. your players will have signed up to join the expedition team as mercenaries, so your protecting the civilians and employees of whatever faction you sign up with. of course your player character will have other information and here is some of that, this is still under development and subject to changes but for right now. the solar system that you all call home is a trinary 3 star system it's planets moons and asteroids are dived between several major and minor factions, the major factions operate like modern day countries while the minor factions operate more like companies or exclusive groups, they own some of their own land but don't really have entire planets or colonies. the minor factions generally focus on one or two aspects of the economy, like the asteroid junkies, they mine asteroids for metals and materials and sell it to trade leagues or refineries. you would also know that the solar system is running out of resources, way too many people, too little stuff. there are common resources shortages, power outages, etc. this is especially concerning because this futuristic society is heavily dependent on a very rare and precious resource. the Wellstone. this is a stone made of pure magical energy, and there is a very limited supply left, most of the well stone mines have closed up, well stone is a crystal like substance which sparkles and glows with every color. this is what has prompted the expedition to the A cluster. the A cluster is a cluster of other stars which are close enough together and to your home star system for your current level of technology to be able to travel between them. however. this expedition was prompted by the fact that, the A cluster is moving. it moved close enough to be able to detect it in the first place, and relatively soon, it will move too far away to reach it again. if your expedition fail, well, it would be the equivalent in modern day terms of us losing the ability to make electricity at all. so, the future of Aylidan rests in your hands.
This sounds like a lot of fun! If you all are still looking, I'd be more than happy to join, I am starting classes again soon though so hopefully the schedules align with that.
