5e and Spell Points

Hi all, Yes, yes, I realize you're probably all getting tired of my questions, but you're all just so damn HELPFUL! So, for my upcoming 5e campaign, I've been pondering the idea of trying out the spell points variant. I see in the character sheet settings that there is an option for spell points.  Has anyone used this feature? Does it work well? Integrate with the charactermancer? Etc. etc.? Opinions welcomed!

I personally prefer it over the spell slot system. I use it and tie it the the blue bar so its just like mana in most video games personally. You just make it a resource and subtract as the player casts spells, I am a big fan. It is integrated to auto calculate spell points based on level and class as well which is nice.

I was playing with it today and when I used the charactermancer  to level up, it didn’t seem like it addee spell points. Do you have to handle that manually?
