Can't add images from My Library to the map pages

When I drag an item from "My Library" to the map area it does not work.  I can select the item and drag it to the map, but when I release the mouse button, it just disappears.  The images are PNG files. I can draw lines and polygons just fine.  I can manipulate existing maps with PNG files just fine. I can even copy an item from an old map that was added with a PNG file and add it to a different map. I've tried placing the items in different layers - Map, token, gm overlay. I'm using Windows 10. I use Chrome,  Version 104.0.5112.102 (Official Build) (64-bit) I also tried using Microsoft edge but the results were the same. I have only 2 extensions in Chrome, and I turned them both off.  It didn't help.

I was unable to replicate this, do you have any reproduction steps I can follow?  Does this happen with just one image or any .PNG image?  Have you tried this in a different game?  Also could you please try using Firefox and see if it works that way? (Edge and Chrome are very similar under the hood, would be good to see if it is a Chromium issue or more general.)
I am having this issue as well. I'm able to copy+paste tokens/assets from other maps just fine and use things I've purchased, but nothing from the Library can be placed. I've tried this on both Chrome and Firefox, and I've tested this with multiple games.

Are you able to place any items on a blank page? The devs pushed a code fix for (possibly) this problem, where an image could not be uploaded if the drag and drop destination intersected another graphic on the same layer.
Just tried this with a blank page and no dice. However, I tested with a different file type and .jpg files can be placed. It appears to be affecting just .png files.
I am having the same issue over here. I cannot add any tokens whatsoever from my library during my session. I am getting around it by copy/pasting some master tokens for my players that I had the foresight to create a long time ago. The problem persists across Brave, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox for me. I restarted the computer just in case, and no bueno.

Similar issue - unable to see recently uploaded images.  One example, a webm I uploaded to the library:   After reloading the page multiple times, at some point the 403s stopped and the images loaded

(Edge and Chrome are very similar under the hood, would be good to see if it is a Chromium issue or more general.) 1. Open your roll20 campaign as DM. 2. Select a map. 3. Attempt to move an item from "My Library" onto the map. For me, it always fails.  It fails for the .PNG files I uploaded.  It fails for the things that I moved from "Premium Assets" to "My Library" also. Absolutely nothing in "My Library" can be placed on any layer of any map.   I don't have Firefox installed and would rather not install it since others are saying they have this problem with Firefox.
Some new info.  It isn't just .PNG files. I can go into "Art Library"->"Premium Assets"-"free assets" and drag the tokens to the map just fine. If I right click on the token and select "add to library" it puts the token in "My Library".  If I then go to "My Library" and try to drag that same token to the map, it fails.

Can you Drag'n Drop images from your recent uploads to the map? "My Library" just points on those Items in your recent uploads if this was not changed... maybe the Item you want to pull out from your library was deleted before and thus the pointer does not work... As for tokens: since you have not uploaded them yourself but just dragged them from your marketplace Items the pointer also does not work and thus, same result...

I am unable to replicate this (but believe it's not working for you). If I follow those steps, the image is placed. It sounds like this needs a more technical investigation than a bunch of users (like me) making suggestions. I would advise going through those steps, and after the failure, capturing a  Console Log ( Chrome ,  Firefox ) and filing a  Help Center Request . A dev should be able to tell you what is going on.
OK, problem solved, sort of. In order to add things from "My Library" to my map, I have to avoid clicking on the icon.  I have to click on the words to the right of the icon. If I try to drag the icon to the map (like I've been doing for months) it fails.  If I drag the words to the map, it changes into the icon and works.

Oh, shoot. I don't usually think about that for the Library, since my fingers have been trained that way from working with the journal. Should have thought to suggest that. Name for dragging to VTT, icon or handle for re-ordering. Sorry, could have saved you a lot of angst, but glad you got it worked out.
Just tested Michael's method and this is working for me too. Thanks a bunch! I'm getting ready to start a Strixhaven campaign and not all of my players have submitted their tokens to me yet. You're a lifesaver. <3

I should have thought of that also, sorry folks.  Just to confirm, is anyone still having issues with dragging an image from the art library by clicking and dragging the NAME of the image?

When you try to drag n' drop a Token from the Journal into the VTT play space, you have to click n' drag directly from the name itself. If you click n' drag from the preview image of the token the Journal still behaves as a text box instead of a referenced link (highlighting the image as text instead of pulling an asset). We are visually moving the token image onto the play space, not the name, so clicking the token image in the journal to move it is a natural behavior based on the functional association. You'd laugh at the amount of times I go to add a creature and end up turning half of my screen blue with the text selector. Same thing happens when moving visual assets from the Image Library.

Ok, I am aware of that behavior, but I didn't get that from what they wrote. Hence my confusion.  It is how Roll20 has worked since...I've been here tbh. Not saying it is correct behavior, just that you have always had to drag from the text.  Turning your screen into a big highlight has been an issue for me too on occasion, and I have been using Roll20 for nearly 10 years. You'd think I'd learn by now.  The bug initially posted above appears to be an error in what to grab. I suggest posting a suggestion thread suggesting an improvement to the functionality of dragging and dropping from the Character Sheets and Art Library.
