As we walked further into the mine after fighting the Alkilith we encountered a blobby/oozy creature called an Ooblex. Before it could unleash whatever terrible power it had in store for us, we turned it into a turtle. We also took on two drow (no relation) who were apparently mind controlled by something in the mine. Going further, we encountered a bat-like fiend. It was polymorphed into a butterfly and we passed without damage. Our next challenge was our toughest, a death tyrant who thought it was a good idea to try to charm or put to sleep the fey among us. The disintegration ray, however, was devastating. Our final battle was with Sibriex, another ooze. It apparently killed the miners. We managed to overpower it and reclaim the body of the lighthouse keeper's son. We bring him back to the lighthouse keeper and Twitch offers to resurrect the boy. He mournfully accepts. Something weird happens: after the spell takes effect it is like history was changed and the son never went to the mines at all. The lighthouse keeper happily greets us at the Moongate Cottage and Shae gives a blue ticket for the Gate to the west that should lead us to Liliana's Promise. We've worked so hard, I hope the end of the quest is near.
