Hello all! So, I am very ignorant to the whole table top gaming community. I was speaking with a new co-worker of mine about general interests, and we got on the subject of Pen & Paper. I've always wanted to give it a go and he directed me to this place! I have a general interest in Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Is there any Modern type games? --Think mobster/organized crime.

Winterfylleth, you should consider taking a look at the Looking For Group search and the Looking For Group Forum if you haven't had the chance yet. Those are both good tools for scoping out what kind of games people are playing or for recruiting people into a game. And welcome to Roll20!

There's pretty much every genre you can think of, and probably a few more on top of that. The styles of game vary heavily too. Some are pretty heavily rules based, where there are lots of mechanics for handling any type of action. Others are more freeform, akin to telling a story together with the minimum set of rules to just keep things ticking over. Most fall somewhere between the two. Figure out what play style you like best and join in some games. Most of all welcome, and have fun.
