Cannot hide nameplates on tokens

Hiya, this is a new issue. Suddenly I cannot hide the nameplates on tokens and the players can see what the monster is "Oh, it's a werewolf. I know how to deal with that".  I'd love to set it as default that names don't show, but doing that in the setting page makes no difference. Until now I have been going into tokens, unclicking the 'show name' tickbox and unticking the 'see' and 'edit' boxes. But when I return to the page, the name reappears and is visable to the players. The only way I can combat this is by changing the name on the token to something else. Any help much appreciated.

Hi Miles! I can't reproduce this, but you could try opening and closing the sheet after changing values. Also are the "reverted" tokens all new drops from your journal tab, or are these tokens in place on a map, that you manually change that revert at some later point?
Hi Keith, yes - a mix of drops from my journal and the compendium. Playing Empire of Ghouls right now. The tokens revert to showing the names again immediately when I close the token sheet. I did wonder if it is some weirdness that has come up with my tokentool API. Is there a way I might have set the tokentool to always show token names. I'd rather it did the opposite as default with the ability to change it to show names when I want (for NPCs). Thanks for responding. Much appreciated.

You can change the show name behavior on all tokens on the board and for future token creation (default tokens are saved in their own closed little world, for valid reasons). The setting is on your campaign settings page. Set the token default behavior there, save changes There are up to three sections on that page, make sure you press the button just below all the token settings). Then open you game and go to the in-games settings tab. Under Miscellaneous, at the bottom, there is a button called "Apply Default Settings". Click that, select the defaults that you would like to update and wait for the thin, easy-to-miss progress bar to finish. As for tokens immediately reverting, that is likely related to a current bug that is being worked on: (EDITED 9/12) There are two other known issues that was not caused by this update but do need a fix: 1) when users change an attribute connected to the token bar, if you don’t load the character sheet before you drag-and-drop a fresh token it shows the default (max) value rather than the changed value. 2) Adjusting linked attribute bubbles renames token. These are an unintended side effect of the big performance improvements we made earlier this year to  load 95% of games up to 50% faster , and can be solved individually by updating the value on the character sheet, token settings, or the token itself.
I tried that a few times just now. No luck I'm afraid. It is not picking up the defaults from the game settings and still automatically reverts if I try and change it token by token.

By any chance, is this in a game with Mod Script access running Health Aura Colors?
Yes it is.
The health auras are awesome. I hope I don't have to choose between two things.

Common problem with that script. Look into the options on Health Auras. That is what is causing this behavior. It's a neat idea for a script, but suffered from unrelated feature creep that causes otherwise baffling results. I believe you can disable that behavior. Type "!AURA" into the chat, and I think it brings up config options.
Ah, brilliant. That fixed it. Thanks so much.
