The games list is based on games that are actually being played in high quantities . The target is that searching for a specific game will always get you a result. If you want to get a game added to the list, convince more people to play it! Until then, use the "Other Games" category. =)

Personally, as I'm looking for games it seems like the Other Games category is something of a black hole and a self-fulfilling prophecy. I can almost guarantee (obviously I don't see the numbers) that games with an official listing will be played more often.

This is why putting keywords for the search feature comes in handy. Since the tag system is shoved down our throats so that we have to use it, just keyword tag the campaign.
As much as I agree that there should be a more progressive way of taking care of this 'other games' conundrum, anyone willing to GM can find players. Its hard for more obscure systems, but its doable. I run Cortex Classic and no one knows it really, and my games fill up. I hope one day there will be a system in place, but so far the tag system CAN function. It just relies on the GMs who make the game to tag their game properly.

I agree, tags and searching help a lot. It's the way you're going to find a game if you're looking for a particular system to play. Meanwhile, the approved games list in LFG is broken . If I just do a simple search of, for example 13th Age, the "games" that come up are five out of seven a mix of groups using it as a meeting place including every game choice available in order to show up in every search. Out of the other two actual games one just has every game available listed as their type and the other has four - which actually makes some sense.

I don't know when/how it's going to be dealt with, but I expect it will be dealt with.

Kevin , are you listing two games when searching or are you only listing one game?

Are you asking if I'm just searching for one game? If so, yeah just in this example 13th Age (not one I actually play, was just using it as an example). It did bring up two actual games amidst the group/forum spam - seemed like only one was an actual 13th Age game mixed with some other rules.

Kevin , please supply a screenshot of your LFG listing settings when you have the problem. Thanks.

Gauss, here you go. It's changed slightly from 4 days ago. 6 listings with one that looks like a valid 13th Age game.

Ahhh, I see. The search itself is not broken, it is that some groups are putting multiple tags in and one of those tags is "13 Age RPG". Awhile back groups were allowed to list an unlimited number of game systems but that has been cut back to just two for this very reason. Since "13 Age RPG" is the first in the list it will pop up more often on what remains of those listings that had many games listed.

Sorry, by "broken" I meant more "a pain in my butt" than an error.
