Token names not visible as player

My players have been reporting to me they cannot see the nameplates on character tokens.  I've checked all the settings, "in all player's journals" and refreshed all the tokens "use this token" and redragged onto the map - but when I log in as player - this is what I see. Missing: Kerroon : Loxodon Druid, Pickles The Blue Guard Drake and Grimbold , Halfling Rogue.  And I am at a loss to figure out why some tokens name plates are displayed but others are not.  Any ideas?
On the tokens where the name is not visible to the players, make sure: 1. The "Nameplate" checkbox is checked.   2. the Player "See" checkbox is checked.

I think, I'm tracking it and there seems to be ongoing bugs with Nameplates showing or not showing, where the opposite is expected. In my game last night as GM, I saw everyone's nameplates for most of the game session, but towards the end I noticed NO nameplates showing on anyone. They'd all disappeared for me.  It was a one-time happening, so I haven't filed a bug report yet, not sure yet if the issue will replicate.
I think that tokens added directly to the journals aren't picking up the campaign's default settings, which might be part of it?
Editing Player Permissions to "see" seems to have fixed it.  Thanks.
