Depends on what system you wish to learn. Pathfinder and D&D 3.5 have sites called SRD (system resource documents): Pathfinder , 3.5E then you have various systems (such as fate and others) that are pay what you want and are found on their sites or drivethrurpg. I've always been interested in homebrew type things and how you can weave them into more popular systems and worlds, like D&D. That depends on the system you choose mostly but there are some google+ communities that are aimed specifically at that generality and there are a few gaming communities that are here also. Search in the looking for games listing (the search engine is in the blue banner above). Azure S. said: 3. How do you go about joining a game here on roll20? Any etiquette I should know of or character sheets I can fill out online? How does the joining process go? Are there any "tutorial" type campaigns going on that I can join that are run by experienced GMs guiding newbies? There are few different ways to get gaming here. Post an intro in the looking for game forum tha explains your experience or desire to learn if you have none, your timezone, what genre or system you are interested, etc... or you can do the game search (blue banner-looking for group) for groups that welcome new players. I belong to a group that runs pickup games, playtesting, and stuff on fridays and sometimes during the week. Our meeting hall is BFRPG Group (Friday Night Pick-Up Games) and we have an open join link at the bottom of the description. Now the system that we run is Basic Fantasy RPG . Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game is a rules-light game system modeled on the classic RPG rules of the early 1980's. Though based loosely on the d20 SRD v3.5, Basic Fantasy RPG has been written largely from scratch to replicate the look, feel, and mechanics of the early RPG game systems. It is suitable for those who are fans of "old-school" game mechanics. It is also a free system. That means you don't have to pay a dime unless you order a physical copy from lulu or amazon or some such place.
