day/time tracker

i am wondering if there's an api that tracks time of day in game or possibly if there isn't maby someone would like to write one.  what i mean by time of day is a clock or some sort of display that keeps track of time of day for the charicters where in the dm starts and stops it so when a charicter asks what time of day it is you don't need to think or make one up or try to keep track yourself   like the display says day 1, 12am   and when started it simply keeps time for you?  i did see the timer mod but that seems to be if you want to time something like duration of a spell    this is not what i mean
Do you mean an actual clock tracking real time? Or something under GM control, where you click the macro button to advance time and output to chat the new date/time and whatverer other relevant info, such as weather? If it's the later, I can share the code for my own setup.
