Hey everyone, I've been thinking about this for a day or two. Have any of you ever run a game with a DM and just one player running a party of player characters? I've always had trouble getting together multiple people regularly together, so I'd always run with the player character being too hungover to wake up and adjusting things on the fly. In another campaign, one person was the main character and I voiced all of companion NPCs but let them determine what they would do in combat. I had the though of running it like a straight up war game. With the player having the option to control each character personally. It struck me as a way to tell a story without anyone feeling a lack of spotlight. It might be a way to tell a detailed and focused story. But it would lose a huge draw of DND for me which is the collaboration with a group. Just curious and putting it out there to see what people's thoughts are.
