After the sand storm died down in the main altar, we found a secret entrance down into the even lower crypt. The stairs led down into a huge round room filled with broken stone work. It looked like someone had smashed all the pillars holding the ceiling up. Nickolai crept into the room to investigate but no sooner had he gone in than a strange disturbance took place. All the stone started to rumble and shake then fell up to the ceiling with a monstrous crash. I used my new magical effect to teleport Nickolai to safety before any damage was done. Wrendell flew across the room with a rope to help others get across but he was set upon by ghouls. The next few seconds were a blur of chaos as our party tried all means of rushing across the room to join the fight but I was badly dented when gravity returned to normal and the rocks fell about me. In the lower catacomb we found a few secret doors which led to an odd space behind the main crypt with only sand on the floor. Further though the complex we reached a blood stained room strewn with bones. As we entered this room though the bones jumped up and rushed to attack us. After another battle we made it through to another large round room similar to the one we entered through. A mass of debris was piled up in the centre and sitting amongst the pile was a large bird, an owl similar to those we encountered yesterday in the necropolis. The bird started to warble its alluring song and leapt into the air. Our assault on the Owl Harpy was swift and merciless and she soon fell to the ground with a few arrows poking out of the corpse. While looking around the room for any treasure or another secret entrance we located a trapdoor underneath the bird nest. Once the floor was cleared the trap door could be opened which revealed a ladder going down into another dimly lit round room.  The room was littered with pieces from a broken boat, loaded with treasures. The boat and treasures were broken and scattered across the floor.  We all got ourselves ready and then descended. I slid down the ladder as others climbed down behind me, with Wrendell flying through without issue. The next minute is a horror I can scarcely remember. The giant ghoul lord made a vicious stand against us, stood atop a pyramid altar near a glowing crystal ball. Dark magic and sand blasted at us. Fire and lightning shot through the sand storm and wind elementals rushed about blowing debris in a chaotic fury. I pushed forward through the wreckage and up to the pyramid alter using the light as a guide Wrendell and I hammered it with crushing blows knocking him to the ground. The ghoul reached out at us flashing with his lightning grasps but the fight was soon over. The sand storm ceased and in the quiet that followed we all took stock of the situation. Eldon was nowhere to be seen. Hopefully he hadn't been buried under the mess.
