Cursor Not Changing Properly

At least in Firefox, the mouse cursor still does not change properly depending on what token you're selecting. This was reported a while back by multiple users, but it seems like it's not been completely fixed.

In this picture, clicking one of the blue squares that represent the token's boundaries should change the cursor to a resize cursor, with two arrows in a line. However, it still appears as a move cursor, no matter which part of the token is selected or whether you're rescaling it or not. Sometimes the cursor does not change at all when hovering it over or selecting tokens, and stays as a normal select pointer without changing.

This is minor, but it makes adjusting and moving tokens surprisingly awkward. Since the cursor never changes or only changes sporadically, for example, it's easy to select and drag a token when you meant to scale it, and vice versa, or knowing when you're clicking on a token in the active layer rather than an inactive layer. This can lead to misclicks, dragging or scaling the wrong token, and other confusion.

Previous correct Roll20 behavior was that the cursor changed contextually: if hovered over a selectable token in the active layer, it would change to a move icon. If hovered over the boundary squares, it would change to a scale icon, etc. This issue seems to have started for most of us affected back in September

I can't replicate this cursor issue on Firefox 106.0.1 (64-bit). When I hover over the square boxes, whether in the middle of a side or in the corner, the cursor always changes.  If you haven't already, you might want to go through the troubleshooting steps and submit a bug report with console logs.

Does it happen with every token on every page? I've noticed randomly it will work, and other times it won't. It also happens on other browsers.

I threw a bunch of spell template images out on a map.  The cursor change worked on all of them.  I tried with them on both the object and GM layer to see if switching layers made a difference, but the cursor still switched at the resize points.  At this point, I can't reproduce the behavior you are seeing.  There may be some combination of actions that will trigger it for me, but I haven't run across it yet.

It happens to be random! Once it works, other times it does not. I really have no clue why it sometimes works and sometimes not. Using Chrome for Roll20 and Windows 10.

I agree with the ones reporting "it seems to be random".

It happens to me, these last 1-2 weeks.

Got a response from Roll20, it's a known issue they're working on fixing. No ETA, but good to know they know about it!
