Hi there! I go by Rani. I'm a 30+ woman, and looking to join a group of other mature adults. I am specifically looking for a dark/gothic horror fantasy game to reboot a particular character of mine. His original Curse of Strahd game died, and I am hoping to find either a new Curse of Strahd game to join or another variety of horror campaign. He is a College of Spirits Bard, flavored as a spirit medium/seer. He starts out as a charlatan, but gradually awakens to legit spiritual power and it is kind of terrifying. He was originally created in 5e, but I'm willing to check out other systems as well that would support this type of character. I'm someone who gets very immersed in story, atmosphere, characters and love seeing how a story unfolds and what trials and tribulations everyone's characters go through. And I'd love a group where character backgrounds or personal plot hooks are woven into the overall campaign. I cannot guarantee I will create an optimal character build for combat, or play them in an optimal manner. I adore grabbing onto dangerous hooks, playing into themes of fear and dread and it's wonderful rolling low and seeing just what the DM has in store. I enjoy a good mix of combat and exploration and puzzles, and love a sense of danger in the game, world, and story. But I aim to inject roleplay into every aspect of the game, so I do tend to look at combat and such as an extension of the roleplay instead of a different part of the game. I'm looking specifically for a group that plays over voice chat, and does not require a webcam and no plans to do any streaming. I do have pretty bad social anxiety, so can be kind of shy with a group of strangers. It will likely take me a few sessions to get comfortable and start speaking up more. Systems: D&D 5E, Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. I'm very flexible and willing to look at any system. I'm interested in learning Pathfinder 2E Interests: Roleplay and story-focused, gothic horror, fantasy. Availability: Monday - Friday (5pm - Midnight EST). 4 hour sessions are my preferred length. Anything under 3 hours is too short for me, unfortunately. Some other fun facts to try and sell myself: I am a big fan of other characters and love seeing the spotlight pass around. I'm not at all averse to a chunk of a session going to a solo or duo scene, with the understanding everyone will get such opportunities throughout the campaign's life. I am an avid notetaker who takes thorough notes. I legit build basically a personal wiki of my character's notes. I share session summaries/logs with the full group as well. I never missed a scheduled session of my old CoS game which ran for over a year, and I always tend to be early. I believe in communication as well, so I try to communicate any concerns or scheduling issues well in advance. Thank you for reading!
