That ended less terribly than it looked like it was going to end. Michael moves behind Liam and says in a low voice, "Some of them were recording you with their phones under the table." And he quickly tells him which ones he saw.
Liam rolls his eyes. "A bit late now. Still, nothing incriminating really, there are more important things for now. I need to track down two vampires who were with me the last time I saw Silas, but they are giving me the cold shoulder. I'll answer your questions, then I really must head off back to business."
Making sure no one has stayed behind and could overhear them, Michael says, "It didn't seem like a good idea to distract them, or you, as you fixed things up there. I can try to take down that Facebook page if you want. Are you sure everything is going to be okay for you? I don't know how things are here in England, but my Sire really hammered down on how we need to avoid breaking the Mascarade."
Liam raises an eyebrow. "You could take it down? How? And don't worry, there is nothing there that would constitute a breach. If it were, yes I'd be in trouble. For now though I need to find some colleagues, I'm in a lot more trouble for what I just did to get that body and he didn't even know where Silas was in the end, just picked his shoes up off the street."
Michael looks up, confused. "I'm sorry to hear you've got other problems on top of this, and I hope you can work them out. That guy had Silas' shoes? I thought you said he was involved in the campus murder. Do you know what street he picked them up from? That could give me somewhere to start looking."
Liam shrugs. "He probably was, but it seems Silas lost his shoes running from the library with us that night. That's the best guess at least. What else did you need to know anyway?"
Liam shakes his head. "I told you, if Silas is hiding, it's from the people you report to. But we ran from something less everyday than a vampire, it was a creature of magic and beyond explaining. Silas tried to fight it, but in the end we all ran. Haven't seen any of them since that night."
"The creature sounds terrifying. Is there anything I can do to help?" Michael asks and then adds, "And I totally get you about the Ordu Dracul here in Oxford, but my sire has good intentions, and Silas' sire just wants to know if he is okay."
"Unless you happen to know where the rest of the group is, then I doubt you can help." Liam pauses. "They're blanking my messages and haven't been at anyof the parties, so I expect they're hidden away from whatever it was we saw that night and nobody will have seen them."
Michael shakes his head and says, "I don't even know who they are. If you do think of anything, just give me a call. Good luck with everything. I hope it all works out."
Michael says, "I was nice to meet you Claire and I'll catch you around Liam. Remember, if you need anything, just call." He waves, walks out of the bar, and heads back to his college.
"What fuss? You mean when your friends told me your group of stalkers have reported me for partying with you all?" Liam smirks. "Hardly a fuss, now, you had time to reconsider my offer, are you still in?" He waves at Michael as he leaves, well aware that that was one more problem waiting for him if he survived another night. He taps away on his blackberry as he talks, replying to a promising candidate for his study and inviting her to a 7am interview.
