Pirates of the Jet Streams takes place in the world of Mynth, a fully developed world where the Age of Sail has begun and the predominant mode of travel is the airship. Eight mercantile empires vie for control of the air lanes, but pirates and raiders threaten their dominance and independent traders can make a killing so long as they avoid angering too many of the major powers. Players take on the role of officers on the Azure Rose, a freelance ship looking to make big profits and explore the strangest corners of the globe. The campaign is player-led, which means there's no BBEG and PC goals are the main plot drivers. Each character level is an independent adventure that helps advance these goals, and players have the choice to develop new goals or retire and replace old characters between adventures. Ship-to-ship combat is a regular occurrence and uses completely homebrewed mechanics that keep every PC fully engaged even before the boarding action begins. The campaign also features a cast of NPC specialists who can assist the PCs during ship combat and away missions. Nearly every PC race available in D&D5e books has a place in Mynth, although their history and culture may differ from their official writeup. Likewise, just about every class is an option. Sessions take place every Wednesday at 6 pm Central American time and use Discord for voice chat. The typical session length is 3 hours. Combat is common, but doesn't happen every session.
