Hello High Rollers! Nuyen Improved is a co-operative of Shadowrun 5e players and GM's operating in a Living Community framework. Much like a West Marches... Westmarches?... however that is spelled... style game, players make characters and apply to jobs posted by GM's, forming a new team every run rather than an ongoing campaign. It's starting to feel like we have more GM's than players because our games are going wanting for participants and we need to recruit new players fast! While we welcome experienced Shadowrun players, our target audience are new players to the system and the setting. We don't stress a need for system mastery, and have no expectations that players be familiar with the 30-odd years of lore behind the game. Just come along, make a fun cyberpunk/magic character, and go do crimes for big dystopic corporations! If you're experienced with Shadowrun LC's and want to know what sets us apart from other LC's, a few of our prominent differences in character generation and philosophy are: Mystic Adepts Were A Mistake: we have freed people from the sense of having to make a mystic adept by deleting them entirely! Karmagen 900: Now With More Resources! We make all characters in a point buy/build point (karma) fashion, with one hundred points added on than the books recommend and a boost in the conversion of karma to cash to splash out on some nice wheels and ensure you aren't showing up to the first heist on a bus! Content Over Consistency: We are empowering our GM's to make decisions on their table about house rules and lore, with everyone agreeing that it is more important to have lots of games instead of very few games that meet extremely high standards of lore knowledge. If you don't mind that your GM in the moment presents a scenario that conflicts with a story written three editions, fifteen years ago, then we might be the right place for you! Above all else, we seek to provide a laid back, relaxed community that eschews the culture of extreme optimization and fanatical adherence to setting lore.
