Roll20 hasn't launched on chrome for weeks.

Every time I try to launch any game it just freezes and crashes. Works fine on Firefox but not on Chrome. Have tried every single solution on here to no avail, I have even submitted a bug report but still no fix. Please help.

Hi Quentin! What was the answer from the  Help Center Request , and how long ago did you submit it? " Have tried every single solution on here to no avail" is a shut down phrase. We cannot suggest any solutions if you have "tried everything". Odds are that there are things you have not tried, since the issue persists. Can you list what things you have tried?

This has not happened to me at all, and I always launch Roll20 games in an Incognito window.  I do get the excessive use of CPU & GPU but the game does launch properly, both as GM and player.

Hello, it has been roughly 10 days since I sent the report but no response yet. And as for the solutions I have attempted so far, they are: Clearing my Cache Disabling Extensions Enabling Hardware Acceleration Creating a dummy account Clearing all data off of Chrome and doing a clean install Running in Incognito Mode Deleting all cookies Updated both my OS and Chrome Those are the solutions I can think of off the top of my head. But this problem started around 4 or 5 weeks ago.
Do you have the option of testing with a different device? The new Windows feature was released at the end of November.  It caused high CPU/GPU usage for certain devices - it could also be causing your issue. -Adam
Hi Adam, it works on Chrome on my mobile device, it is just my PC that appears to be having the issue. Also, all of my players also play on PCs with chrome and none of them are experiencing any problems. Not sure if that info helps at all!
Also, when attempting to launch a game the following error shows in the console log: gtm.js?id=GTM-MKL9HM6&amp;gtm_auth=RyNPjkDTh-LgK4oo5gJi6A&amp;gtm_preview=env-1&amp;gtm_cookies_win=x:76 Refused to load the script '<a href="https://static.ads-twitter.com/uwt.js" rel="nofollow">https://static.ads-twitter.com/uwt.js</a>' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'self' 'unsafe-eval' 'nonce-JHtRXiSTNt0jWkKd' 'nonce-K7ldJaYYWtD69s0E' <a href="https://cdn.roll20.net" rel="nofollow">https://cdn.roll20.net</a> blob: <a href="https://www.datadoghq-browser-agent.com" rel="nofollow">https://www.datadoghq-browser-agent.com</a> <a href="http://cdn.inspectlet.com" rel="nofollow">http://cdn.inspectlet.com</a> https://*.googlesyndication.com https://*.doubleclick.net <a href="https://partner.googleadservices.com" rel="nofollow">https://partner.googleadservices.com</a> <a href="https://www.googletagservices.com" rel="nofollow">https://www.googletagservices.com</a> <a href="https://ssl.google-analytics.com" rel="nofollow">https://ssl.google-analytics.com</a> <a href="https://www.google-analytics.com" rel="nofollow">https://www.google-analytics.com</a> <a href="https://ajax.googleapis.com" rel="nofollow">https://ajax.googleapis.com</a> <a href="http://ajax.googleapis.com" rel="nofollow">http://ajax.googleapis.com</a> <a href="https://d3clqjduf2gvxg.cloudfront.net" rel="nofollow">https://d3clqjduf2gvxg.cloudfront.net</a> <a href="https://cdn.firebase.com" rel="nofollow">https://cdn.firebase.com</a> https://*.firebaseio.com https://*.tokbox.com https://*.opentok.com <a href="http://static.opentok.com" rel="nofollow">http://static.opentok.com</a> <a href="http://www.google-analytics.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.google-analytics.com</a> <a href="http://cdn.crowdin.com" rel="nofollow">http://cdn.crowdin.com</a> <a href="https://crowdin.com" rel="nofollow">https://crowdin.com</a> <a href="http://stun.l.google.com" rel="nofollow">http://stun.l.google.com</a> *.sentry-cdn.com https://*.fullstory.com <a href="https://www.googletagmanager.com" rel="nofollow">https://www.googletagmanager.com</a> https://*.refiner.io https://*.maze.co". Hi Quentin, I've filed a second report on your behalf. Let me know if you don't hear anything in a couple of days (due to holiday).
Thank you very much!
Having this problem as well. Roll20 works on Firefox just fine. On Chrome it just doesn't load. Nothing. No maps, just endless loading screen.&nbsp;

HI Ashes_and_Ghosts! Have you gone through all of the diagnostic steps suggested above? If so, and you have had no success, your best bet is to gather a&nbsp; Console Log ( Chrome , Firefox ) and file a&nbsp; Help Center Request .
I've been having the same issue. Nothing gets it to work. I've tried all the steps, nothing happens.

Adding a note on here that I'm having the same issue. I'll use Firefox for the time being just wanted to be tagged on this ticket to get updates. I haven't submitted any tickets yet. Here is my chrome Console error as well. Seems it's the same thing as above. Seems something in the editor is suddenly being blocked by Chrome that causes chrome to stop loading it. Hi James! As with the others above, your best bet is to take that Console Log and use it to file a&nbsp; Help Center Request . That's the only thing that creates a ticket. Forum posts may not even be seen by a dev—they are mostly community help.
I have created a ticket. If I get a response I'll post it here to share with everyone. #110575
Thanks James - I am now having this issue - was fine yesterday - today, no such luck
I just started having this problem on my ipad in opera. Cache clearing, reloads, etc didn’t work. What finally fixed it was going to roll20.net instead of the login link. Now it works with the old link too.
Just a small update. While it does give me the error if I leave it in the errored state it eventually loads. I'm not sure exactly how long but I let it set for a few hours before I came back and it loaded. Once I'm in it works fine. I received an email back with more questions/troubleshooting steps but no fix just yet.
Guess I won't be getting any more updates. Your request (110575) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email. Hi there, Thank you for sending this our way! We have gone ahead and submitted a bug ticket internally to be prioritized. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an ETA for when this will be addressed. &nbsp; If there is anything else you might need assistance with in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again. &nbsp; We appreciate your patience! Appreciate your patience as we're settling back in post-holidays—we believe we have a fix here and the issues are largely related to framerate, so we'll be introducing an option to limit that framerate (setting a default) soon. We're in the midst of testing that change, but my hope would be that it'll be live this week. If any issues persist after that fix we'll be sure to follow up individually so we can troubleshoot your unique setups. Thanks!
Hi folks! The fix that Ashton mentions above is now live. Please let us know if you're seeing improvements or the same behavior.
Appreciate the response! I didn't think I would get one here! The issue still persists on my end. Where is this setting we can modify? I checked game defaults but don't see a framerate setting there.

Unfortunately, it's an in-game setting. Can you connect from a different machine?
I appreciate the quick fix! But unfortunately, my roll20 seems to still not be launching on Chrome, even after adjusting the fps to the lowest setting.&nbsp;
Unfortunately it didn't help me either. Mine defaulted to 30(Saw this in Firefox). Couldn't load in Chrome. Switched it to uncapped in Firefox. Couldn't load in Chrome. Switched it to 60 in Firefox. Couldn't load in Chrome.
Quentin F. and James C., can you send in a Help Request and include the link to a specific game where your Chrome can't load? We can take a look at those games in particular and work with you to figure out what's up.
Having had this same issue for some time can I ask if the other people here are on high end graphics cards? iv just gone and unsubbed, having the issue since the start of december I decided just to give in and accept it won't work for me, but I figure id ask if were all having the same issue and are using similar equipment. My much much older computer at work, runs roll20 with no issue.&nbsp;
I am on a RTX 2080 Super
I use a 2070 Super. Issue started late december. Bianca said: Quentin F. and James C., can you send in a Help Request and include the link to a specific game where your Chrome can't load? Do you want a second ticket for the same issue?
I was checking to see if there was a fix. Sad to see that there is STILL not one. I gave up and just ran all my games on Firefox.&nbsp;
