Storyteller Diary

I am going to use this thread as a kind of 'diary' of what i am doing to keep everyone in the loop.   1/22/2023  :  Made the icon for Jackie Wells' grandfather as a Solo in Night City.  Using the picture of Jackie from Cyberpunk 2077.  I gave him a nice quote :   "I gotta get one last score and then I'm out of the game.  Did I tell you about my baby girl?  I'm gonna marry her momma, I'm gonna do the right thing.  Guadalupe Alejandra Welles...but when I marry her mom maybe she'll take my last name.  One last mission...one last score.  Then I'm gonna buy a nice bar somewhere, I even got a name figured out 'El Coyote Cojo' -- gonna tend bar and maybe cook my famous grilled fish burritos like grandma used to make.  My little girl and her momma will be there too...safe and secure, and surrounded by love.  Just one last mission..one last score...get my pile of cash and GET OUT." 1/22/2023 : Got the Cyberpunk 2020 Night City sourcebook as a .pdf and parked it on my desktop.  (I had one on my phone but constantly trying to transcribe was becoming a hassle ) 1/22/2023 : Researching the fates of Crispus Attucks & Jeremy MacNeil.  Will be changing the metaplot -- biggest change for the west coast : The Kuei-Jin assault failed, but the Anarch Free States still fell.  Louis Fortier (LA by Night) is Prince of Los Angeles, Vannevar Thomas is Prince of San Fran.  Salvador Garcia rules East L.A. as chair of an Anarch council.   1/22/2023 : Doing additional research, writing up plots for my "100 miniplots" document

1/23/2023 : Trying to work out how the Cyberpunk Roles can be made into Mortals character types (mainly by assigning abilities for those whom love the templates) 

1/24/2023 : Continuing work. Trying to figure out the Discord

1/25/2023 : Bah...just now realizing there are SO MANY characters connected to Night City.  Going to do a deep dive over the next few days. 

1/25/2023 : Reconciling the Night City Sourcebook with the Video Game map for the Discord server. 1/25/2023 : looking good!  I will use the video game map but I now have regions 'linked' to the Night City Sourcebook. 

1/26/2023  Revising Resources Background to give an actual amount characters get each month in disposable cash.  Working to contact players and let them know I am available to help with sheets on Sunday.   

1/27/2023 : Working with players to help get their characters finalized.  Working on doing sheets up for Kindred NPC's

1/29/2023 : Game is in 7 days, will work with players as much as possible until then. 

1/29/2023 : Discord is open, it is still being developed.  Focusing on helping get player characters approved. 

1/31/2023 : Game is rushing toward us.  Game will be a gathering open to all kindred called by the Prince.  Working to get characters approved. 

2/2/2023 : took some screenshots from 2077 game for use.   Game is getting near, should be exciting. 

2/5/2023 : Game 1 came and went.   Most interesting NPC?  Chucko the Clown.  Most Dangerous NPC?  Chucko the Clown.  Stay tuned!

2/6/2023 : Working on between game info / lore.  Also working on online scene policy. 

2/7/2023 : Looked over Rache Bartmoss and the massive crashout of the 'net 6 months earlier.   To resolve this in the World of Darkness :  1)  The Digital Web got slammed by a massive 'whiteout' along with the 'mundane' internet. 2) 95% of net function was lost 3) For game purposes, Digital Web 1st edition represents the 'rebuilding' of the current Digital Web.  Everything not controlled by the supercomps of the Megacorps is the wild west.  4) Everything is in a rebuilding phase.  "To Be Determined" and literally the Player Characters can be a part of it. 

2/13/2023 : Wil be following up with approved player characters this week and running mini plots with everyone as best I can.  Lev will be helping me with ST matters and I am very thankful for their help.  Game is in 6 days. 

2/13/2023 :   I will try to have news reports and resolve Influence actions on Mondays (preferably alternating Mondays)...:)

2/20/2023 : Another game come and gone.  Working on Gang info and playing with a new faction at the edge of the city/badlands.  Should be interesting.  Also am posting a clarification to XP expenditures. 

2/23/2023 : Influx of new players from my advertising.   Two from this batch is already approved.  Am working on more.  on track for game in 9 days. 

3/1/2023 : Continue to work with new players.   Game is Sunday.  Setting will be a social event at Anarch held bar in the city. 

3/4/2023 :   A  Clarification on Experience costs I feel I should clarify that experience tends to follow the Revised levels (which tend to be New X ) -- yes I know this can seem pricy but there are many chances to earn XP from scenes, plots, and RP.  The chart is summarized below :  Experience follows this chart :  New Ability :  3 New Discipline :  10 New Path (Necromancy or Thaumaturgy) : 7 Attribute : New rating x 4 Ability : New rating x 2 Clan Discipline : New rating x 5* Other Discipline : New rating x 7* Secondary Path (Necromancy or Thaumaturgy) new rating x 4 Virtue : New rating x 2 Humanity or Path of Enlightenment : Current rating x 2 Willpower : New rating Caitiff have no Clan-based Disciplines, just as they have no Clan. For them, the cost of raising all Disciplines is the [New rating x 6]. This is both the curse and the blessing of being Clanless.    Increasing a Virtue through experience does not increase Traits based on that Virtue (Humanity, Path, Willpower).  Disciplines : Finally a note on which Disciplines require a teacher.  Your Inclan Disciplines do NOT require a teacher.  Physical Disciplines (Celerity, Potence, Fortitude) do NOT require a teacher -- BUT -- if you are not being 'taught' you will need to spend time getting faster, stronger, tougher.  Hit the gym.  Join Fight Club.  Thaumaturgy does NOT ~require~ a Teacher...you might be able to scrounge up a book of lore or a scroll, or maybe use Occult Influence to learn it. This WILL however take time.  Otherwise anyone with Thaumaturgy can teach you the Discipline.  This is a house rule and is more due to the fact Thaumaturgy is less of a 'Discipline' and more of a collection of magics and rituals.  Having covered all that, all OTHER Disciplines (Auspex, Dementation, Obtenibration, whatever) WILL require a teacher whom has that Discipline as an in-clan.  I expect players to uphold both the letter and the spirit of this restriction.  Abilities :  As of this post, Abilities of 3 or more (so literally 3,4,6) will require a teacher.  And yes, you CAN take abilities of up to 5 at character generation.   "But Storyteller, I already had [ability] at level 4 approved, what does that mean for me?" ...it mean congradulations, YOU are a teacher.  Others might seek you out for your lore and knowledge. Thats a chance for your character to barter for favors.  Or not.    In addition there are books, tomes, chipware upgrades, and mentoring programs available to your character [ "I know Kung Fu!" ]  I hope this clears things up.  STmike
