November 9, 2018 Friday Kismet will do research on the uptick of Mental Illness before the Exodus spell is cast. She is looking for the spike prior to the Exodus. Paladin wants the date of the Saietta battle included. She does the download before they leave and crunching numbers while on the way home. [Some corrections otherwise known as Oopsies: Arkham is north of Boston. Arkham is not on the coast. Dunwich is West of Arkham, almost in the middle of the state. I only recently found a map of Lovecraft’s Massachusetts]  She also bought MU bumper stickers for the RV and the car. They head back to Brooklyn but stop to take pictures at beautiful Dunwich, etc. During the drive back to Brooklyn Kismet will scour reports of mental illness from April to June of 2017 prior to the Exodus in the area of Rockaway Beach in Queens New York. Due to patient privacy laws she gets the information from the Bureau of Vital Statistics but nothing specific. She only gets the general area of Rockaway Beach.   10PM They arrive at the Base. Kismet starts making a list of the mental health facilities in the Rockaway Beach area. She focuses on the inpatient facilities and finds the following facilities: Community Mental Health, CreedmoorPsychiatric Center, New Horizon Center, Services For the Underserved, and St. John-s Episcopal Hospital. It is too late to call the hospitals so she goes to bed planning on calling them in the morning.   November 10, 2018 Saturday              1:00 AM              Big Tuna fleeing from a pair of Genocide Triads with a little girl currently under his protection heads for the nearby headquarters of The Brooklyn Brigade. He hopes there is someone there who can help protect the girl. The proximity alarms warn Paladin that trouble is approaching. He alerts the rest of the team, everyone is here having decided to just grab some much needed sleep after the long drive from Arkham. As the team makes ready to repel the six 30 foot tall robots the enormous Asian man crashes through the wall. As soon as the intruder sees the team he asks them to protect the girl while he takes care of the Genocide robots. The battle is entered by the stranger and the entire team. Kismet teleported from the base level to the roof and quickly discovered that her mental powers were useless on Genocide’s mechanical menaces. Opening the case that holds the potions that Mary Margret Catherine Lucinda Abagail Caruthers gave the team she drinks the Diminution Potion shrinking to only 10 inches in height. She quickly discovered that it only affects her and nothing that she wore or carried. The stranger, Okina Maguro (Big Tuna), and Paladin were quite capable of cracking open the armored shells of the robots which gave Kismet the idea of teleporting through the cracks to the more fragile insides. Revenant used his Banshee Scream on the robots with minimal to reliable affect. A pair of the robots ripped away the roof and most of the south-eastern exterior wall in order to get to the little girl that Okina Maguro was protecting. Revenant fired his electro-blast at one of the undamaged machines going after the girl reducing the device with a single pulse. Kismet inside one of the machines started redirecting electrical current from inside, shocking herself but not severely, and destroying the damaged robot. The machines analyzed their programmed ratio for success was three Genocide Robots for every one mutant (or meta-human). This combat no-longer fit the success parameters. They withdrew. The Genocide lost three of the six units dispatched to acquire Okina Maguro and the girl, the Brooklyn Brigade and company lost no one but the headquarters took heavy damage loosing a solid third of the room and most of the South-East corner of the building. After the battle was over a limousine pulled into the compound and the girls father collected her then sped away. Father Nathan Stuart (Hedge Fund Manager), 9 year old daughter (Abby). They, however, gained the knowledge that Genocide Robot Mark II series are vulnerable to electricity. Kismet goes downstairs to shower off the oil and hydraulic fluid while she waits for the potion to wear off. Paladin gives Okina Maguro the application for joining the Brooklyn Brigade. PART arrives to collect the remains of the Genocide Robots. Suspiciously one of the heads is missing (it is the clutter closet). Paladin asks about Okina Maguro for the background check. Lt. House says that he was never charged with anything but has a reputation for being an associate of the Yakuza (house, clan, or family is yet to be determined). House defers to Lt. Nardini of organized crimes. Nardini says that Okina Maguro was not charged and is not under suspicion for anything currently but if it were up to him (Nardini) he would not add him to the team roster.   12:00 Noon Big Tuna brings the completed paper work back to the base. He finds a crew already at work at repairing the damaged section of the warehouse level. Kismet is paying for the walls of the base to be further reinforced.   Paladin calls Doctor McQuark informing him about the head from the Genocide Robot Mark II that the team has in their possession. Members of the team want to process the head but when they are done Paladin intends to give it to McQuark so he can design a series of tools to be used against them. McQuark will try to develop methods to destroy, disable, and track the machines. Note: No one mentioned that Big Tuna needs to vaccine for the Glove Cleaner virus.   Note II: Also (GM Error) McQuark needed to tell the group that after the destruction of his lab he can not create any more vaccine.  In order to do so he needs more of the virus itself.   Paladin asks McQuark to find someone who can cure mental illness (without specifying Paladin is looking for someone to undo the madness caused by exposure to the Mythos). Dr. McQuark suggests Doctor Leonard Samson, the super strong psychiatrist to super heroes and the stars. Another suggestion was Doctor Michael Two-Youngmen (Shaman II) formerly of Alpha Flight. Doctor Two-Youngmen uses sweat lodges, smoke with hallucinate properties, and rituals so the patient can commune with the spirits who help the patient find his way back to mental health.   Both the suggestions are … good but they take too long and are too involved for what Paladin is looking for. Paladin wants something faster. McQuark will start looking for someone who can project into the patient’s subconscious and guide them back to mental health. This might take some time. Kismet hooks Okina Maguro up with a mind link crystal. Then she starts calling the mental health facilities around Rockaway Beach looking for leads on DEMON. Kismet says she is looking for a cult of people driving people mad. The doctor at one of the hospitals (St. John-s Episcopal Hospital) says that he knows of the villain, a Doctor Know who had a madness-ray that drove its victims insane. Doctor Know was active in the 1930s (or so) during the height of the yellow scare during the Pulp Era. Kismet says she is afraid the cult is using Doctor Know’s technology and is seeking a ray to undo the effects (because it might be able to treat Mythos madness). The doctor at St. John-s says that he will also reach out to the families of the victims from the mental illness spike (April to June of 2017) to see if they would be willing to let their information be used by the Brooklyn Brigade.   Addendum / Correction: November 10, 2018 Saturday              While Paladin was talking to Lt. House of PART he asked about Genocide. Lt. House gave him a brief synopsis. With the growing number of meta-humans appearing around the world being able to protect America from them became a priority. Under the name of Project Wide Awake the best and brightest in America were pulled together to assess the situation. Project Wide Awake drew from scientific and military services to form their Think Tank.              After three years Project Wide Awake rendered their finding to congress. Mutates who gained their powers from extreme circumstances were easiest to identify and track. As were aliens and Normal humans who were classified as F.E.A.T.S. (Functioning with Enhanced Attributes, Talents, and Skills.). The menace that flew completely under the radar were mutants, beings that blossomed into Meta-Humanity with no warning when they hit puberty.              The resources from Project Wide Awake were folded into a new mission, it was called Project Salvation. They also requested and obtained robotic heavy weapons intended for PRIMUS and to act as guards for STRONGHOLD and SAFEHOLD. These robotic weapons were the Minute Man Series. They would eventually become the template for Genocide Robots.              The head of Project Salvation was a geneticist who was concerned that normal humanity was going to be replaced by the mutant and mutate population. The head of the agency was Doctor William Andevers.              When it was discovered that Andevers was perverting Project Salvation to eliminate the mutant menace (as a first step to destroying the threat that all meta-humans pose to the real human race) the project was shut down.              Andevers escaped with the designs for the weapons Project Salvation were developing to combat the mutant menace.              He surfaced a few years later leading a group he now called Genocide.              Long story short Andevers was cornered by a team of super heroes and a PRIMUS contingent where he blew himself up. To avoid capture he killed many of his own man and reduced his manufacturing facility to rubble. It was believed this ended the threat of Genocide but they were wrong.              Shortly after William Andevers’ defeat and assumed death Genocide resurfaced under the leadership of his son, Jeffery Andevers. Doctor Jeffery Andevers was considered at the time to be far more gifted in genetic sciences than his father was.              Jeffery Andevers is at large and presumed at the help of Genocide.               A list of other hate groups with similar goals included (but are not limited to): ALPHA (Association for the Legitimate Preservation of Human Achievement), Brotherhood of Purity, Church of Humanity, M.O.M. (Mankind Opposing Mutants), and likely more.
