November 11, 2018 Sunday Paladin is sleeping late. He will get up at noon having stayed up all night monitoring the trouble alert. Revenant stayed up all night will be analyzing the head of the Genocide robot the Brooklyn Brigade kept after the battle that introduced Big Tuna to the group. As a result he also sleeps in. Kismet spends Sunday morning getting caught up on her course work but she will take a moment to grab her broom and buzz the most conservative church in the area: Church of the True Messiah. After barnstorming the church she grabs lunch at a hotdog cart near Prospect Park. While Kismet is preparing to order her lunch she gets a message from Sherry. (Sherry Marsh is her friend and RA at the ESU dorm where Kismet lives). Sherry asks what Kismet is doing. Kismet shows her a picture of the hotdog cart and they plan on having lunch together. Sherry is on her way. Network heads to the super-secret base at about 11AM. Not having a car and not wanting to ride the bus he arrives by Uber. As the car pulls in he sees a man parked outside the door of the base. The man identifies himself as Albert Benjamin and he is here to see Paladin. He wants to get something that belongs to him that the Brooklyn Brigade has been holding on to for safe keeping. Mr. Benjamin rings the bell but decides to wait in his car for someone to respond to the summons. Network looked around quizzically. The south and east wall were gone, along with a third of the roof, having been destroyed by the Genocide robot attack. Throwing caution to the wind he enters the boundary of the first floor of the base. He is examining one of the cars in the motor pool when Revenant arrives. Revenant does a marital throw dropping the intruder to the ground as Paladin emerges from the concealed elevator that leads to the base proper. The intruder identifies himself as Network and says that he was referred to the group by Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk was the group’s previous cyberkinetic and recruited Network to take his place. Paladin is dubious considering Network did not observe boundaries of the base and might not have any respect for other kinds of boundaries. After having Revenant toss the intruder out the door and despite his misgiving Paladin gives Network the application. Paladin then turns his attention to Albert Benjamin. Albert Benjamin came to the Bunker. He requests to have the fragment of the Civil War camera (the Hopewell Device) returned to him. When Paladin sees him his Danger Sense goes off. Paladin does not give the fragment to him. Benjamin is angry. He drives away vowing to get the police involved since the Brooklyn Brigade refuses to return his property. The car Benjamin drove away in was recorded by the security cameras. Paladin makes sure that the license plate is recorded clearing in the security video. Revenant takes one of the motorcycles and follows Benjamin. Unforntunately he looses Benjamin in traffic. Paladin goes back downstairs while the construction crew arrives and gets back to work repairing the combat damage and doing what they can to reinforce the structure. Revenant spends the rest of the day analyzing the Genocide robot head and the other robot fragments from the clutter closet with the intention of being able to build his own! Kismet waits at the hotdog cart but Sherry does not appear, instead it is Spencer (Sherry’s boyfriend) who arrives. He explains that he wants Kismet’s help to convince Sherry to do something that would make her a lot of money. Something that is possible only while Sherry is young and fresh-faced. Spencer suggests that Kismet should join in. As a former thief it shouldn’t go against her moral fiber and the money it makes will be legal at least! Kismet has him hand over Sherry’s phone and promises that she will talk to Sherry about whatever Spencer has in mind. Kismet finds Sherry searching high and low looking for her phone. Kismet says she has it, that she got it from Spencer. They head to Sherry’s room to speak in private, Kismet’s room was out of the question because of her pervy poltergeist. Kismet tells Sherry that Spencer has an… interesting suggestion for making money. Spencer seems to have forgotten that I am a trust-fund baby and don’t need the income. Kismet tells Sherry Spencer was suggesting sex-work and even wanted her (Kismet) to costar. Spencer wants Kismet to talk Sherry into it. Kismet refuses to try to talk Sherry into the sex-work but DOES think it would be a good idea for her to change her phone’s password and kick Spencer to the couch. Sherry thanks her for not trying to convince her into becoming some kind of whore. Spencer has talked her into doing a lot of nudity for pictures and stuff. Kismet even prevented Sherry from becoming a Bambi! (See Hunting Bambi for details.) Sherry then tells Kismet that her major is education and she intends to become a teacher. A history of sex-work would not be a good thing on her resume! Kismet says there are issues at the super secret base and she needs to go. Sherry promises that she will deal with Spencer and makes Kismet promise to take care of her self.    She tells Kismet that she likes her more than just as a sexy witch with a magic broom. She thanks her for being such a good friend. Kismet mock pouts replying ‘Just a friend? Too bad, too bad.’ That night Revenant he borrows a bike again and goes on patrol.   November 12, 2018 Monday              Monday morning just after dawn the base is visited by Sanguine. Paladin groaned. As per his habit he had been up all night listening to the Trouble Alert.              Paladin goes up and answers the door. Sanguine steps back letting the light of the dawn bask over her. She tells Paladin that she isn’t a vampire even though she is the girlfriend of one.              She tells Paladin that Gratz was brought to New York nearly a year ago by a mobster named Jimmy ‘Young-Blood’ Morelli. Jimmy knew the family couldn’t compete with super heroes and wanted to add metahuman might to family’s muscle.              Gratz was building a formidable force in the city until Darius Vonner and Crypt convinced him to put his forces at their disposal to capture Paladin. Now his forces were in shambles and he’d nearly been destroyed by the Brooklyn Brigade.              He wants to make a clean break and is leaving New York but he wants to make good on his deal with Jimmy Morelli and get revenge on the Brooklyn Brigade before he goes.              Gratz is going to embrace Jimmy and grant him free will. Vampire childers have an instinctive loyalty to their sires. Any vampire Jimmy creates will be loyal to him, and the vampires his childers create will be loyal to a vampire that is loyal to Jimmy. The Morelli crime family could very quickly have a literal army of undead in an insanely short period of time.              Vampire society and human society in New York live in a precarious balance. Gratz has not educated Jimmy in how vampire society works, Jimmy is unaware of the other sects and bloodlines of vampires.              Gratz is pulling the pin on a grenade and tossing it in a bin of nitroglycerine.              Sanguine wants one thing in exchange for the information she gave him. She wants the Jorum of Kinsmanship for a month. Paladin refuses. She tries again, a week. No. She finally gets down to a single night. Paladin again refuses. He says it is not his, he is just holding onto it for the Met Closters.              She becomes very angry. She storms off warning that she will never share ‘juicy information’ with him again.              Paladin tries to calm her down. He says that vampires of the city would pay her handsomely for this information. Sanguine does not want to be the middle of an crossfire between two or more factions of vampires.              Paladin agrees to keep her name out of it but will see about getting her the reward for the information. Begrudgingly she accepts the deal and drives off in her custom Hearst.                He then calls Sam at Post Nuclear to set up a meeting with Lilli for dusk.              Then he calls the group together and they start to research the Morelli crime family.              Kismet and Big Tuna go old school and hit the pavement. She leaves her witches hat and broom at the base. She dresses in her gothic fashion and borrows one of the motorcycles. With Big Tuna’s help she finds the areas where the Morelli family is most active. This gives the Brooklyn Brigade the size of their territory. Network is uses his cyberpathy to comb through Jimmy Morelli personal information. James (Jimmy) Morelli works for one of his family’s sanitation companies, ‘We Clean New York’. He also gets Jimmy’s home address. After that Network explores the Dark-Web to see what kind of criminal activities he and his family are involved in. On the Dark-Web he can’t find anything. The Morelli family, as far as he can find, are more holy than the Pope. Network does find a known associate of Jimmy’s that is currently in jail: Ricky ‘Beans’ Mariconda, Ricky has no driver’s license and relies on mass transit and ride sharing to get around town. Using his disguise, acting, and mimicry skills Revenant assumes the role of Ricky ‘Beans’. He travels to ‘We Clean New York’ and loiters around the garbage truck parking area waiting to be recognized.   Paladin talks to Joe Nardini of the organized crime unit. Nardini tells Paladin that the head of the family, to the best of their knowledge, is Robert ‘Bobby Bucks’ Morelli. Bobby Bucks is ‘retired’ from running the family’s sanitation service(s) but OCU (Organized Crime Unit) thinks he is still actively running the criminal empire. Paladin calls Bobby Bucks but finds the old man is not willing to listen to any degree of reason. At one point during their conversation the old man tells Paladin ‘you deal with superman next time he comes to collect for unicef, I'll take care of my family’. Bobby Bucks then hangs up on him. Paladin asks Network to gets the name of the Morelli family lawyer. Network succeeds, his name is John Gaitta. At the sanitation company Ricky ‘Beans’ (Revenant) is approached by Trevor -Triggerfinger- Rinaldi. “Hey, when did you get out? If we’d known we’d be celebrating down at Lucky’s! “It is a good thing you’re out. Jimmy thinks you are a friend of ours so wants to include you on something big! I aint got no details but it’s big. After work tonight I’ll take you to him and he’ll tell us all about it. He’s been twitchy lately and only sees people at night.” <Shrug> “Whatever, day, night, who cares? He’s the boss, am I right?”
