Managing tracks in the jukebox!

I think the jukebox is a great idea but it's in need of a few minor tweaks in my opinion. 1. I would like to be able to re-order the tracks by dragging them up and down in the sidebar list. 2. It would also be useful to very a small tracking bar for each track as well as the volume control. 3. As has been mentioned in other discussions it would be appreciated if we could upload tracks from our libraries to use.
* to have a small tracking bar etc.
Another thing I'd like to add is the ability to organize songs in the jukebox into groups, i.e. having a group for downtime songs, battle themes and etc.
Option to connect track, or track list with page or pages would be also very usefull - this way we could prepare soundtracks for locations or scenes, and when there will finally came time to play them we wouldn't have to search in long list. Ability to rename or tag tracks on the list of your own jukebox would be also quite cool - some of them have names that don't say you much about them.
If we could tag a track with a label just to help remember what page to use it on, that would be great.
Being able to organize them, and perhaps assign them to specific pages (being able to assign them to more than one page would be great as well, especially for some of the sound effects). Apart from being able to upload our own tracks, would it be possible to share the community creation? Such as if someone had created a particular playlist for a specific campaign like the Pathfinder Adventure Paths, he'd be able to tag that up for people to listen to and rate for usefulness, as well as perhaps autodownloading his options and his uploaded tracks.
Yeah, even if we could just add tags to sound tracks (like we do for our Images library), it would be a big help. Some sound tracks are great, but don't sound at all (IMO) like their name would indicate. Like, I found one "Town" track that's actually decent battle music. But I'm never going to be able to remember which one it was if I can't put a Label on it ...
Playback progress bar. Reorganisation in game by drag and drop. Tagging/renaming music in your list to find it easier. Connecting tracks to a map. Playlists. Are all upvoted suggestions by me.
-I also think a track bar would be incredibly helpful, especially for the sound effects tracks, which are nearly useless as they are now since they each contain several individual sound effects. If at all possible, it might also be nice to be able to set markers on that track slider to indicate where the desired sections are. -The usual [repeat 1/repeat all/shuffle] controls would also be much appreciated. Currently, the jukebox plays the same song over and over again until I manually change it. -I see that you're now able to rename the songs, so the labeling issue I feel is adequately resolved this way. -A little explanation of how the music works would be nice. Explaining whether all your players will hear the music you're currently playing, how the tracks are displayed for GM's/Players etc. Ultimately, the jukebox is an awesome feature and the quality of the music library is surprisingly good for free stuff!
I agree very much with these suggestions. Some users have been talking in other threads about using folders for ease of organization and access about Roll20 Handouts, Macros, . . . So, why not the Jukebox as well? Right now all Roll20 Jukebox's sounds & music pieces are in a single, very long alphabetically sorted list, making very difficult - if your list of assigned sounds for your campaign isn't small - to just pick & play that very specific sound that you are looking for in midst of the game, at that specific time . So it would be really useful not only to distinguish - by using separate folders, or by means of other method - music from FX sounds, but also to be able to arrange music pieces and sounds in categories or folders such as "ambient music", "combat music", "melee combat FX sounds", "magic spells FX sounds", "animal roars", etc. Right now I have only 17 items in a Roll20 test campaign, and I can say that in midst of a game, it takes a while to find the cool sound that I assigned for a character fast-drawing a sword, for putting an instance. Currently this sample list has just 17 items because it's only a test, but I know that I'll be adding many more sounds, making specific sounds or music tracks in the Jukebox really difficult to find in the suitable moment during the game.
I already use a ton of music in my game, and even relabeling it myself alphabetically, most of the suggestions here would be perfect, and help out tremendously. I also wanted to note that there's an odd issue where if you play a track that's not looping, then go to pause or play another track it will play the first one again. A small button that goes somewhere on the map, just to hit pause / play / next song would be perfect too, having to scroll through the entire list to find the one song playing to stop it, then scroll all the way to the next one to start it is a bit silly. @Axel_Castilla: Or that, yeah. Edit: I'd also like to see the option to allow a player to control the jukebox. Could be useful in campaigns with a number of players, someone you trust to control the mood while you focus on other things.

One of the few things that's "holding" roll20 back is the jukebox. I'm not big on playing small sound effects, but more ambiance music for battles and environments. Macro ideas, that are mentioned earlier in this discussion, for those small sounds could be a good idea for those who would use it though. I think a good feature would be able to create a playlist and have it cycle through(or stay on a certain track if wanted) the playlist. Say you name a playlist "Battle" and start that playlist when in battle. As well as have a set amount of playlists you can create. Maybe just a couple for free users, moderate amount for supporters and unlimited for mentors. So this idea in combination with these: Axel Castilla said, Bryan F. said, A small button that goes somewhere on the map, just to hit pause / play / next song would be perfect too What about a small movable window for this, like the Turn Tracker or the Dice Roller?

For item #1, you can order the tracks however you want by including numbers at the beginning of the name.  For instance, I had 3-4 tracks I was using for an adventure so I edited the names to start with 01-"trackname" through 04-"trackname".  You can reorder all of the tracks in your jukebox in this way.  Hope this is helpful!
ability / die Macro + sound FX ?
Honestly... all of these are important things... but being able to upload my own songs... KEY!  Very much a key thing.

The ability to upload your own songs will not happen. They've stated this several times. However, most of this other stuff could be implemented.
Can't you background audio separate from the client? As much as roll20 does, it would seem that more specialized apps would handle audio better, w/the possible caveat of integration w/VTT functions, no?
Uploading your music won't happen for most likely 2 reasons. #1 - Licensing issues (pulling links to files on sound cloud gets around that. Also Sidenote: Guys just upload your tracks to soundcloud, and type the name in the roll20 search feature. I've done it dozens of times it's pretty easy) And #2 their site is probably not designed to hold all that information. There's really no reason for them to when you can just do it all on sound cloud and do an easy search.
"Sound cloud...." Ooooh.  Sounds good. Preesh the idea.
Just rename all of the tracks, and add in a number at the beginning.  I was having the same problem, and just numbered the tunes  in the order I was planning on using them.  Made it much easier to use.
Ability to trigger sounds from macros would be good. Macro example: #bow /me shots an arrow Take this to the knee! /play arrowshot /roll 1d20 vs reflex /roll 1d8 damage Also, grouping tracks in folders or something would be awesome :)
I can live without uploading my own songs. What I really want is Sound FX. Gun fire, sword swing, helicopter propellers, grenades, creaky doors, screams, laughter, thunder, etc. on and on. If the Roll20 team has already made it clear that we won't be able to upload tracks, fine for me. I'll live. Please consider adding Sound FX to Jukebox. You can avoid copyright issues. Please consider finding a supporter for noises! This is something I would purchase from the market. I would really like to add sound FX to my game. If I could let my players know they're entering combat by clicking SMG burst from a list in Jukebox? Well, it would be awesome. Is their any chance of this? I'm on board with linking Sound FX to macros but a list of noises for GM control takes precedent.
Hey Scott, you might find&nbsp; <a href="http://www.freesound.org/" rel="nofollow">http://www.freesound.org/</a> &nbsp;useful for sound FX. &nbsp; When you do a search for a sound, you can narrow down to ones that use a Creative Commons 0 license. &nbsp;Meaning the creator has waved all copyrights on the item. &nbsp;"You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission." &nbsp; This means you can upload it to soundcloud for your own use without fear. &nbsp;Just make sure to tag it with "roll20" in soundcloud and any other tags that will make it easy for you to search for -- oh, and remember to set it to being "public" so roll20 can find it.

There's also plenty of SFX available on SoundCloud. You might have an easier time searching within SoundCloud rather than Roll20 because you can filter your search for audio that's less than a minute long.
Oh, I didn't think of that, Kristin! &nbsp; That's a good tip. &nbsp;Thank you. &nbsp;I can always use more sound FX.
Thanks for the advice. I'll start adding SFX to my Horror game this week!
