Old player looking for new game

I started playing roleplaying games while I was in high school back in the 80s. We played a bunch of different games. Gamma World, Gangbusters, Marvel, Recon, RoboTech, Shadow Run, Star Frontiers, Star Wars, and Top Secret. But, mostly we played AD&D. Over the years I have tried a few times to get back into playing. We had a group in college that played a few sessions of 2nd Edition. And most recently two of us from the original group played a few sessions of 5E with our sons who are now in college. I would like to find a group that meets fairly regularly in the evenings to play some 5E. I already have the 5E players source books, so I am ready to go. I am willing to play any class that is needed, and I am not particular about play style. I just want to get back into playing. I think I can play any night of the week. I am in the Central time zone and I tend to stay up late.
Hi Brian, I'm an OSR gamer myself, going back to the "good ole days." I played some games you mentioned, and others you didn't like Aftermath, Traveler, etc. Would you and your friend (and/or sons) like to form a group for play? I'm free most of the time, have DM'd for more years than I can count, do "voices" and role play as well as narrate combat. I have a history and theater background. I also do my own maps: https://www.pinterest.com/arillion1/arillions-cc3%2B-maps/ Let me know if it would be possible for your all to play together. I'd like to get some older and younger people together in a long lasting campaign (1.5-2 years) or could do a more casual thing if you wish... Let me know...
Marvel, Star Frontiers, Top Secret, oh my! Good stuff right there. Hey Brian, et al. I'm considering starting/joining a group, with some older and younger folks (18+), for a long-term (published) campaign. I, too, have DM'd more than I can count and would love to sit on the other side of the table with some fun-loving, like-minded, folks. That said, I would be willing to take a turn running some select adventures, either every other week or as a second, followup, campaign. I don't have a theatre background or make my own professional battle maps, like Arillion, but I do some voices, make handouts galore, set killer soundtracks, and put forth a great effort in running a fun and smooth game. Let me know if this resonates with you. Good Luck! ~Sherlock
Likewise. I learned with Red Book Basic, went straight into 1st edition AD&D. Played Gamma World, Boot Hill, Gangbusters, and Top Secret back in the 80's. I've played other editions over the years but settled in with 3.5 as my favorite ruleset. TLDR? If you're available on Sunday afternoons, you're welcome to join a classic themed game using "mostly" 3.5 rules. We're doing character roll-up/ Session Zero this afternoon. (Sunday, March 26, 2023- 1:00 East Coast Time) Feel free to jump in if you can, if it's too short of notice but you want to play on Sunday afternoons, PM me and we'll get your character drawn up this week so you can make a surprise appearance next Sunday. If you can't commit to playing every Sunday, I can certainly let you run an NPC when you want to join in, or have you roll a PC to make scheduled guest appearances. It's called The Edge of Civilized Civilization. There's a designated thread here in the LFG forum, and here's the link to the game's main page: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/10938475/the-edge-of-civilized-civilization

Hi. We are looking for a couple of serious players to join a modified Curse of Strahd game (5e). We play every other Friday at 6pm PST (8pm CST/ 9pm EST). Let me know if you are interested.
I run my own RPG system called "firewinds of the suns" . You can check it out at https://app.roll20.net/join/12966092/AlBB4w This Space-Western RPG is shiny like FIREFLY, will shoot you first like STAR WARS’ SOLO, bring you back like the TERMINATOR, or just leave you LOST IN SPACE. You might die another day like JAMES BOND, fall in love with royalty like DOWNTON ABBY, end up on the streets like CYBER PUNK, hustle some drugs like CLERKS, hunt down the bad guys for a bounty like COWBOY BEBOP, and rob a casino like OCEANS 11, then help yourself get rescued like the A-TEAM. I have been a gm for 8 years, and with Roll20 and Discord for about 3 years now, If you have friends we can make a game just for your group. -or- I have semi daily pickup games. We have a great group of 3-5 players. we can give you a redshirt character you can play for a day or we can make a character before a game starts. The story continues even if you are not there and it is ok to miss sessions or show up late or leave early, we are just glad you came. This game system is NOT D&D or PATHFINDER, but is much easier to learn and play, all macros are already made for your roll20 default character sheet, all you do is click a button to roll. PLATFORM: Roll20 with discord voice
Not sure how married you are to DnD, but I'm creating a group for a long term Pathfinder 2e campaign based on 13th Age's Eyes of the Stone Thief. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/366753/eyes-of-the-stone-thief for more info.
