Click - Zoom & Pan on site / battlemap

I really wished there was a feature where i could link two points on a singe site, which when clicked on pans and zooms to the other point on the site. This i could be used in may different ways, i personal favourites are: 1. If clicking on a "portal" the players pan and zoom to a different location within the battle map. 2. If clicking on a certain point on a map, the view pans and zooms to a more detailed map of the clickt upon region. 

At first I had no idea of what you meant. But now I'm reading this as more of transitions to other pages. Am I right?

Your Idea sounds even better! I only thought of zooming and panning on the same page.

I found that there are certain APIs that can simulate certain parts of what i want, but there does not seem to be a way to pan and zoom to a specific, predetermined location by click on a token, which is what i was looking for.
