Hello, im Hot Ross Buns, or HRB. I am a passionate player, seeking a new long-term home! I have been addicted to D&D ever since one of my friends turned me on to it. Since then, I became a Dungeon Master myself and have really enjoyed myself. I have been playing for about 3 years or so, mostly as a DM. I would prefer to find something more long term, and something thats relatively fresh. Here is a sample of the game I run down below, seeing how I run my game might tell you something about how I like to play. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYttIUgqneHozgxbldQC55jRUrxopb5nq However, it has been a good year or so since I last was a player, and I yearn to get lost in an adventurer with like minded, dependable individuals & help forge something really special. I am very passionate about the game, and very much look forward to acting like how I would want a dream-player at my table to act. I only really know about D&D 5E. I have Discord, a decent Mic, no webcam. I am not a fan of D&D Beyond, or using anything overtly complicated for rolling dice. Roll 20 runs poorly enough as is, I don't see the need to bog it down with anything that isn't mandatory. My first character ever was a druid, that was fun though a bit much. My second was a Norse-like barbarian with high charisma, a larger than life gentle giant that could be pushed to unleash that rage when needed. Please ask me more about my prior characters, they might help you glean insight into the type of characters I like to be. I always do my up most to be respectful, and demand respect in return. I believe in being a team player & having exceptional table etiquette. Though of course I am only human, unless there is something bothering everyone else, I try my absolute hardest to not let it bother me. Being a DM myself, I understand all too well the sanctity of the game, and what it means to have everything going smoothly & have everyone be satisfied. Its a feeling that I as a player, want to help my DM achieve. More about me personally: I am a bit more verbose, intelligent (I like to think), good sense of humor, self conscious, sometimes emotional, enthusiastic, love to laugh, I have a soft spot for animals, chickens in particular. I tend to gravitate toward one or two other party members and forge fast friendships. I tend to not try to take up too much of the spot light, and try to be very cautiousness about being in the lime light too much. I really enjoy homebrew, I love sitting down with my players and coming up with small tweaks or custom abilities that really make their character shine, without being too powerful. I am looking forward to meeting a fellow game master who is as passionate & open to customization as much as I am, it is a lot of what attracts me to the game. My longest played PC was Magnus Hardrada (my Barbarian) who I believe only made it to level 6 or so before the campaign was forced to close. I would be open to playing almost anything. But must admit I enjoy taking relatively underpowered marital classes, and tweaking them to be something really unique and cool. From what I can tell, people don't RP in combat, probably because combat take awhile as is. But I find myself often trying to work RP into combat, someone like a barbarian for example, should most certainly be RPing in combat, as its their bread & butter, in some cases where they feel most at home. I love making new characters that pertain to that game world in particular, nothing bothers me more than when people bring pre-written characters to a world they know nothing about. Its just something that always irked me, personally. My only day I really can't play is Saturday, due to that being the day I host my game. Other than that I am open to hearing from anyone who is looking for a passionate player who is ready for adventure, without being to overbearing or intense! I don't know why people on this site are so disrespectful. I'm not interested in competing for a spot at your mediocre table like im some contestant on some game show with no prize. Just so I can be told some generic garbage 2 weeks later. You either have a spot at the table or not. The amount of times I have had smoke blown up my rear end, only to be put on the backburner is mind boggling. Please don't waste my time, im not trying to waste anyone elses. I'm US EAST - I'm 25 - I use discord, have a decent microphone & PC. I don't care about your sexual orientation, please don't shove it in my face. Please reach out for clarification or questions! My DMs are open. Thank you!

I mean if a person wants to participate in games with egotistical disrespectful DMs, that is his or her freedom. At the same time, though, a person is also free to only join games where all players (DM is a player too as defined in the rule books and explained above) respect each other.
"Please ask me more about my prior characters, they might help you glean insight into the type of characters I like to be." Or seeing as you yearn for adventure you could just...idk tell us maybe? " I'm not interested in competing for a spot at your mediocre table like im some contestant on some game show with no prize. The amount of times I have had smoke blown up my rear end, only to be put on the backburner is mind boggling" You put off a lot of main character energy and that's honestly more of a red flag than anything else. Good luck man, I wouldn't want you at my table.
I don't know why people on this site are so disrespectful. I'm not interested in competing for a spot at your mediocre table like im some contestant on some game show with no prize. The player to DM ratio on this site is, like, at least 50 to 1. This is a DM's market and if you actually want to play, you'll have to learn how to make yourself more pickable. Good luck!
Hey if you're looking for game, I'm looking for players to do a pen and paper game over discord. :)

I have seen many a posts/comments where egotistical DMs think they are the most important person above all other players. They seem to forget that a DM is a player too, just performing a different role in the game. Everyone is equally a player They are not just another player. And they ARE the most important. They do a lot of work on a session or campaign while most players just have to show up. Who has to absolutely be there each and every session? The DM. That alone speaks to their importance.
