Dynamic light lag only in GM view?

It's hard to sift through the plethora of DL posts for this very specific thing, but I only seem to have lag on maps with DL when I am viewing things as a GM. If I ctrl+l under any character with vision everything responds very quickly. The area that the characters can view is fairly sizeable (30X30) while the rest of the map is twice that. I specifically modded the map to have a low file size but should I assume it's the map itself+whatever other DL, doors, etc is causing my GM lag?
I found a weird interaction which might be useful for the devs to know.  I inadvertently fixed this issue by deleting a copy of the page I was experimenting with.  This also might have been a specific token bogging things down, I moved some to another page to resolve.

Without seeing the map we can only speculate. Could you send me an invite so I can see if there is anything out of the ordinary?  Edit: As a note, the forums are primarily for users helping users. If you would like the Devs to see it your best bet is sending a Help Center request.

Hi Victor! Although a large number of NPCs with sight is no longer supposed to cause lag, the current advice is to turn off NPC sight if not absolutely necessary to resolve some general display issues. That being said, it is possible (I haven't tested) that a large number of NPCs could cause lag, if the GM also has Explorable Darkness turned on and update on drop turned off? I.e., if these are the settings, see if toggling them to their opposites has any affect.
This looks to have fixed it. I had 20+ NPCs all with vision enabled. It reasonable to assume that there is additional processing on the map to accommodate for each NPC's position in relation to each dynamic lighting wall.  keithcurtis said: Hi Victor! Cool! It is my understanding that the lag from many tokens is not is huge issue with Explorable Darkness turned off. But like I said, I haven't really tested that to any great length.

If this is an ongoing issue, that might be an idea for a script (for sheets with pc/npc flags, at least): listens for vision-enabled npc token drops and whispers a msg & button to chat that removes vision and updates the default token. Maybe whitelisting stored in State for certain npcs (like familiars, etc.)
