Dynamic Lighting keeps cutting off site at random angles where lines aren't present

Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Idk how this is even a bug.
Dynamic lighting lines seem to have this thing where if you draw an unbroken line back onto itself you get odd results. It seems to work better if you break your lines up into at least 2 parts instead of rejoining a line with another part of itself. Does that make sense because I'm finding it difficult to explain it eloquently? If you are drawing a square, and you start your line in one corner, before you get all the way around, stop and make a final line to connect what you've drawn so far, back to your starting point.

This could be an example of a failure in the old dynamic lighting system that cropped up last year. It won't be fixed, since the legacy system is deprecated. The best bet is to switch to the new system. The old system is also prone to failure from unclosed lines. If you are indeed using the new lighting system, then ST Carcass has probably correctly identified the issue. In this case it likely comes from how vector joint corners are "mitered". Too sharp a join (and it has to be extremely sharp, like doubling back on itself), can cause unintended results. For this reason, it is also a good idea not to use the freehand tool for dynamic lighting. The kajillion short segments produced by that tool can inadvertently create corners like these.
