To clarify, you are not connecting a computer to your TV, you are using the native TV applications? I don't know how successful that will be. Smart TVs are somewhere between smartphones and tablets in processing power. Are you using dynamic lighting? Does the smart TV have the ability to turn on hardware acceleration? (For that matter, I am not sure that would even make a difference since there is probably no extra hardware to offload the work to.) As Roll20, or even the browser that Roll20 runs on, upgrade it is possible that lower end systems will struggle. Even a modern Smart TV is by definition, a lower end computer system. With that said, if you message the Devs via the Help Center with your Smart TV's specs and which browser you are using maybe they can start to look into whether this is within what they want to do.
