Can't see token auras in Object/token view

Running into a problem where I cannot set token auras to be viewed in Object/token view, which is where we play.  I have allowed control and set token area to a color and selected see and edit in options.  I can see the aura, but only in map/background view, not in object/token view.  Any suggestions?

Hi Bruno! It sounds like the token itself might be on the map layer? It might help us diagnose if you provided some screenshots of settings and verified the layer the object is on.

I actually had a similar issue a couple weeks ago. Scenario was my PCs were on a very large ship token (ship had no sight, on object layer so I could easily move it around). PC's had auras from a modified Aura/Tint script (aura 2 only). No matter how I tried to change z-order, PC auras wouldn't show for me (GM) when they were on the ship token, though their token art would. If I moved them off the ship token, I could see their auras again. Not sure if players could see their auras or not; very busy combat so I just rolled with it and moved the ship token to the map layer and navigated it from there, then promptly forgot about the issue until seeing this thread. I'll have to try to repro when I get home and see if it is still happening or if I can glean anything more.
Thanks for your thoughts and it sparked a thought on map layers.  I checked and I have been importing maps to the object/token layer mistakenly.  When I changed the map I loaded to the map/background layer the problem was solved.  Not only that, but it fixed a problem I was having of using the click and drag option to select multiple tokens!  Thanks again.

Yep, my "issue" with tokens-with-auras on top of a large ship token (all on the object layer) is just normal token/aura interaction (see example below). Brain fart. Auras always lie underneath the tokens. Of course, that gives the ability to do cool stuff with images that have transparency, like in the animated gif at the bottom of this post. I think this technique might be in the Tips & Tricks thread? click to play: Here's the layer & z-order setup for the trick above: Object Layer: PC tokens with active auras Object Layer: Base map image with transparency cutouts, aligned with map layer Map Layer: Base map image

I'm still waiting for the place to use that trick. Now that you can truly lock tokens, it seems a lot more workable.
