What's the deal with LFG Listings?

When listing a game on the LFG page, what actually determines the order it's listed in? I've seen the same games be on Page 1 for months, while New games are pushed all the way back to something like page 15. What is this nonsense? Why is my brand new listing pushed back to page 10, while the same 10 games can hog the front page for weeks on end? What causes this? Seems completely random and arbitrary and sinks chances of finding players.

Hi Niklas! I don't know if it's of any help (I've never used the system), but the Help Center has a page with tips to improve listing order .

My take on it is that it primarily sorts by start date, but there is some secondary method as well.  How I've worked around it is to put down the date of a session 0 that is sooner than the actual start date, then write in that the start date will be later. If you would like further assistance let me know, we could experiment to try to have it show up sooner.
from my understanding Pro listings get posted to the front pages first, then plus, then FtP listings.
