Player Tokens and Player Ribbon

Sorry, i have searched and i just want to make sure im right about this, but im sure when i used Roll 20 last time (which was probably 18 months ago) when i moved the player ribbon, it automatically moved my players tokens over to that new map along with it, but it doesnt seem to do it now  When i looked online, it says that the GM has to copy and paste the tokens now? is this right? or am i missing something really basic?  Kind Regards Chris Houston

Roll20 does not automatically populate any maps with tokens when the player ribbon is moved. (How would Roll20 know where  to place tokens, and which ones?) I’m guessing when you played before that the map already had tokens placed before moving the ribbon (likely), or you were using a Mod script of some kind (unlikely). 

Hi Zombie Chris,  I have been using Roll20 for nearly its entire existence and that has never been a baked in feature of Roll20.  As Jarren said, perhaps you already had the tokens already on the page or were using a script of some kind.  How most folks do it is copy/paste from one page to the next, or placing new tokens by dragging characters from the Journal Tab. 

cheers for the fast replies, there is a very good chance i am just mis-remembering, especially if established long term users are saying it isnt a thing,  I have just read how to create characters and i can atleast drag and drop from the journal which is much quicker than copy and pasting every time 

As a reminder, you can copy/paste entire groups of tokens. So it should be pretty quick to do that.
