Hi all! TLDR: looking for any interested people to jump into a session on some occasions when a full time player is out. No requirement whatsoever on attendance, literally whenever there is a slot and you fancy doing some ad-hoc DND. We have custom, campaign specific character sheets to give you the full player experience with heavily reduced planning and setup. Key Points: We use Roll20 and Discord No ERP Light homebrew mechanics (I can send you details) Post here or DM me here or Discord (thealphaturkey) for more details! Background I currently run two groups (6 players each) who play on alternating Sundays, one doing Curse of Strahd and the other Out of the Abyss. Both groups are well established and have been running for a few years now on various campaigns. We play very relaxed DND - we follow the RAW (with some light homebrew on mechanics). As the group get older and we all have more responsibilities (boo) some people need to skip a session for whatever reason. To help keep the numbers up and prevent cancelling sessions, a few months ago I started to trial a "sidekick" statblock, that took a NPC or themed character from that campaign, gives it a player equivalent stat sheet and levelled it up to the parties level. This allows someone to jump into a campaign with a character that feels like a PC, but requires very little setup. Mechanics There is a Discord channel where any free slots will be advertised, along with the campaign and theme If available and interested, someone can fill a slot on a first come first served basis I'll send you the list of available statblock choices, and there may be a few customisable options (i.e. spell choices etc) I'll give you a general idea of that NPCs current aims/goals - you are welcome to do whatever you prefer with that character instead if you wish! I'll set everything up in game and you're good to go! If you want to come along to another session, you are free to play that NPC again or pick a completely new one (each NPC can only be created once, so there can be no duplicates)
