Grid system for my campaigns does not change despite updating settings

I'm planning to run some campaigns in Battletech, and as a result I'm trying to get the campaigns I'm setting up for it switched over to a hexgrid system. However, despite having switched the grid over to hex (I've tried both Hex(V) and HexH)) the snapping remains stubbornly square. I've exited and returned to roll20 to confirm that the settings were updated properly and the game claims to be using a hexgrid, but again, in the actual game it's quite clearly still square. I've also tried to disable the grid completely and that also has no effect. I thought perhaps that games have to be created in hexgrid in order for it to work properly but after looking there doesn't seem to be an option to do this - your only options are for Name, Character Sheet, and Module. Does anyone know what's going on?

Hi Shebe,  Could you supply a screenshot of the effect you are seeing?  While Roll20 does have hex grid options they are sorta still based in a square grid system. However, I haven't ever seen this as an issue when it comes to snapping to grid for single-hex tokens.
These are the settings the game says it is using And this is what I'm actually seeing. Both the background grid and the ruler/token snapping are still very clearly square.

I think I see the problem, you used the Campaign Details settings? (The first screenshot is from the Campaign Details Game Settings page rather than the setting for an individual page (map) in the game.) Those do not apply to a game unless you apply them using the Apply Default Settings button.  You can find that under the "My Settings" tab (top right corner of the VTT), then "Miscellaneous".  Then you checkmark the desired setting(s), hit Apply, and WAIT for the very difficult to see progress bar to complete.  Alternately, you can change an individual page (map) setting by clicking the blue (light mode) or purple (dark mode) button at the top of the VTT. Then hover over the page and click the settings icon (cog). From there you can change the settings for that page (map).
Ah, you're right, that did it. Thanks for the help.
