Hello DND players!! I am starting up a new homebrew game that will run Tuesday nights from, 7 pm EST - 11:00 pm EST. If I have enough interest by Tuesday June 20th, we will use that night as a session zero, to introduce ourselves, make some characters and ask any questions about the game, playstyle and content of the campaign. I have been running this campaign for another group for six-seven months (25 sessions) and it's going great, and I also have a new night open for gaming now, so I'm hoping to get a second group trying out this amazing campaign. It is based loosely on a book series written by the same writers that wrote the Dragonlance novels and campaigns and created the Krynn world. The book series is called The Death Gate Cycle, although reading it is not necessary and only a few plot points have come from the series. The campaign is just based in the physical worlds the series outlines. Please just message me with a few details about yourself, and an idea for a character. Please only apply if Tuesday nights are going to work for you for the foreseeable future. This campaign does start at level 1 and has enough content to go to level 20 for players that are in it for the long haul! Here is the game description: Welcome to Airias, the World Of Air! A place split into three tiers; High, Mid and Low Realm. Each consist of floating islands, where the various races live their lives. In high realm, are the mysterious elves. The humans, halflings, and dwarves live in Mid Realm, where they quarrel over water resources. And in Low Realm are the 'Geg' races; the goblins, orcs and bugbears, and they toil away for the enormous continent sized machine that spans the entirety of Low Realm, the only source of water in Airias. Fifty years ago a great war came to a close, and the Elves and Humans formed a peace that has lasted ever since. Now High Realm and Mid Realm go about their own business, trading with the Gegs of Low Realm for their water. However, recently resources have started to become more scarce, and everywhere in Airias is feeling the pressure, as water, food, and warmth become harder and harder to obtain. Magic is also becoming more scarce over the years, and the few who are able to wield it naturally are almost non-existent. Some are able to unlock it's secrets after years and years of long study. And of course, there are those who have dared to tap into the occult, and speak to powerful entities somewhere beyond this world. The Elves have a pantheon of gods, while the humans and most of Mid Realm worship Sol, a sun that is fixed in the sky above them. Some Other World Details Due to Sol being fixed in the sky, night only comes to the people of Airias when another floating island positions itself between Sol and the island below, which in a daily cycle can happen more than just at night. This means daily eclipses can occur, some for a few minutes and others that last hours. Each floating island has it's own orbit within the 'Maelstrom'; a world sized tornado that cracks with constant lightening and is dangerous to get close to. It opens up at the top like a traditional tornado shape, under the "Firmament" which is an impassible barrier, beyond which is Sol, the sun that doesn't move. The machine in Low-Realm is managed by the Dwarves, who understand it's machinery best, but even they don't really know everything about the machine. It is largely a mystery, however, keeping it running produces water, which they collect and sell to the rest of the realm as the main source of water in the whole world. Although there are some places that also produce small amounts of water, like a lake or two in the mountains of Aristagon, or the magic water fall in the Elven kingdoms of High Realm.
