I'm a beginner DM (not a new player but new to DMing) who is looking for a smaller group of people, who would be open to a series of combat centred one shots that MIGHT lead into a campaign that would be more narratively driven. These would be on a weekly basis. To be discussed on what day it would be acceptable, it could be any day through the week, excepting Mondays and Wednesdays. The idea and goal of my games are simple. I want to play some combat centred games to get used to DMing. You would start at level 2 and level up in each session to about level 4. (3 sessions total) From there we would then see about exploring a narrative I have written. In between the combat encounters a large period of time will skip , where you explain what you want your character to try and achieve in the downtime. I will then make you roll for that based on, not the actions you personally take but, the actions you inspire or seek to inspire in those you interact with. The game setting: You are slaves. The Empire is in decline and you have been taken prisoner and sold to a wealthy imperial wizard baron to be trained as gladiators and pitted against beasts, other would be slaves and, on occasion, your fellow gladiators. You have been " Cursed " with a powerful magic that will slowly kill you if you run away. Making escape impossible. But maybe there is a chance, the winds of change have begun to blow and perhaps it will be in your favour? Or maybe you can just fight in the arenas all day. Idk Themes: Roman-esque What will be discussed session 0-0.5 Whatever else I feel like
