Movement Bars

The Movement Bars, both Vertical and Horizontal, are hidden behind the Table, and make accessing areas of the map more difficult. Scrolling with the Mouse works normally. This seems to only be a problem with Firefox, but I don't use Chrome. These Bars appear and work normally on other Browsers.

Hi Dragon Q,  I am not seeing that, could you supply a screenshot of the issue?  Also, could you run Firefox in Private mode to see if it does the same thing?

Hi, I too am seeing this with the bars, though don't use them.  Private browsing no different.  If I am on 100% zoom the bars are nowhere to be found, drop down to 80 and you start seeing them but behind the map, drop to 70 and it is fully visible.  I accept those numbers could be specific to this map size.  The bottom bar became barely visible at 70% but I didn't find I could grab it, even with F11 active. As I said, not a problem for me as I had forgotten they even existed, but thought I would let Dragon Q know they're not alone. Monitor display size checked and set to 100% (min size). Win 11 PC and correct resolution

A full image may show what is going on whereas a cropped image could cut out valuable information.  Also, could you supply the Page Details "Size" information (width and height)?

Hiya Gauss This happens whenever a map is large enough to not be shown in its entirety at 100% AFAIK

Simon, could you turn off "Apply Dominant Color from Map Layer" and screenshot the result?  Also, what is your browser zoom level set to? (Not Roll20 zoom level)

Hi, you still have GM access to our group's Temple of the Dragon Knights as far as I'm aware, if that helps determine whether it is setup of the game or machine specific?

A wise move no doubt :) I have refreshed the screen after turning off dominant and see no difference, scrolled the map slightly and you can see the bar is there even at 100%, but behind the map. Browser set to 100% edited: F11 put on to move Windows bar and mouse moved to bring movement bar into view

Browser set to 100% Yeah, could you send me an invite? I am just not able to replicate this with my setup, perhaps I will be able to in your game, or at least eliminate it as a game issue before calling a punt to the Devs.  Also, does this happen with the Legacy UI (toolbar)? If it doesn't, then this could be a new UI issue.
PM'd you an invitation and yes, I checked that earlier, doesn't matter which UI, same effect

Sorry, no joy. Whatever this is it would have to be machine specific. In your game I am getting scrollbars on all zoom levels until the map size shrinks to the point where there is no more scrollbar. But even then the scrollbar is still present for me.  Tested modes:  New UI + Dark mode: When zoomed in the scrollbars are fully present. When zoomed out the scrollbar "arrows" still show up in the bottom right and bottom left corners. However the scrollbar "placeholder" doesn't show up.  New UI + Light mode:  When zoomed in the scrollbars are fully present. When zoomed out the scrollbar "arrows" still show up in the bottom right and bottom left corners. The scrollbar "placeholder" shows up normally.  Old UI + Dark Mode:  When zoomed in the scrollbars are fully present. When zoomed out the scrollbar "arrows" still show up in the bottom right and bottom left corners. The scrollbar "placeholder" shows up normally.  Old UI + Light Mode:  When zoomed in the scrollbars are fully present. When zoomed out the scrollbar "arrows" still show up in the bottom right and bottom left corners. The scrollbar "placeholder" shows up normally.  Tests conducted on Firefox 114.0.2, no extensions.  If your Firefox is the same version then at this point, I'd have to say it is probably machine specific and the Devs need to look at it. I'd file a bug report via the Help Center .

Hi Gauss, that's good to know since that eliminated the games, it must be PC specific.  Went to Settings/Accessibility and this was turned off.  Turned it on and Bob's your uncle

Simon, could you share with the class the directions to get to that setting?
No problem, Gauss: Right click on Windows button in Taskbar, click Settings, click Accessibility, click Visual Effects, toggle the button

Ahhh a Windows 11 setting, I was checking Firefox's settings. I don't use 11 (trying to avoid it tbh).
Oh, that makes sense. My bad for not being explicit about which settings.  Heard a bit of bad press about Win11, but for me it has not been a problem. Unless of course you count this accessibility issue as I cannot envisage a scenario in which I knowingly turned off scroll bars ; ))

I cannot find a way to do screen shots on Firefox. I'm sure there is a Control F# that I'm not aware of. I also use Opera, where I can take screen shots, but I don't have the Bar issue with that browser. There are times that I cannot even click the Slide Bars - even at 20% zoom. I have not changed the Browser Size. I don't use maps bigger than 80x80, which wasn't an issue before this happened. (And is not an issue in Opera) I thought that it might be a Firefox update causing the issue, but even the newest update did not change anything. Changing to the new UI also still had the Bars behind the VTT. OK, seeing the Accessibility shots, I checked out my settings. (Win 11) Clicking the "Always show scrollbars" did the job. [Picture taken with Phone camera] Thank you, everyone!

Hiya, for the future, screen shot either with Print Screen button for the whole thing (take care not to have anything personal visible) or for snippets use Win key+L Shift + S keys together and you will see the screen change slightly and be able to drag a selection box around whatever you want. You will get a notification briefly that it was successful for the latter. Either way, open your drawing prog of choice and paste away. I just used Paint for those, but whatever program works for you. Use the button in the reply box to upload to Roll20. Do not paste straight in to Roll20, it won't play nicely  Just found this (edit: as the way to install Firefox's own snipping tool) - 1: Click the bootstrap/hamburger icon top RHS of Firefox 2: Click More Tools 3: Click Customize Toolbar a box opens for overflow items 4: from all of the icons to your LHS of that box, drag and drop the Screenshot icon (scissors over a page) into that box 5: Click DONE (bottom RHS) You will now find it behind the >> button at the top of your Firefox bar (the button next to your bootstrap/ burger icon)
Simon G: I followed the instructions for Firefox, but when I placed the screenshot into the taskbar, it would not respond/open. When I Pinned it, it vanished. Anyway, I did not find the command for what was in the picture in Firefox or another Browser. It was in my main computer Settings, which I do not know how to screenshot. I see now what you mean, and will try to remember to use the Load Picture button. Thanks!
