[LFG][5e][EST] 2 Forever DMs looking for a group

My GF and I DM for our current group, alternating campaigns. As such, we never get the chance to play together as players and would very much love to do so! Both in our 30s, both experienced role players. We play DnD 5e, not interested in One DnD. Scheduling: We are available week nights Tuesday - Friday, between the hours of 7pm and 10pm Eastern (Hard stop of 10pm Eastern). We’d be open to a midday weekend games as well. Would love to find in-person friends in the Annapolis, MD area, but very experienced with virtual DnD. We have used Owlbear Rodeo, Roll20, Zoom, Discord video. We like both RAW and homebrew as long as the homebrew can be discussed as a group. We like your pretty typical 60% RP/Exploration, 40% Combat type of set up. We really like good storytelling. We want to play out full character growth arcs. We are not at all interested in playing with “evil” characters that don’t come pre-planned with a redemption arc. We like having a cooperative party-based game about doing heroic things and creating epic stories together. We are both good at “camera sharing” and make a point to be aware of that. We enjoy being spectators during other PCs' special moments. Open to just about any 5e module, or even a homebrew game if there is room for the players to be part of creating the story. Please hit us up. Happy to chat in Discord (blackwaltz47) or here. Happy to be a part of a new group or to submit character ideas to existing groups who may want some experienced roleplayers to shake things up.
If you are still open to a game, I think you two may be the players I've been looking for. I like to run grounded, PC focused games for small parties (2-3 PCs) so I'd be running a game for just you two or potentially also a friend you'd like to invite. I heavily invest in my players PCs, I love to build my worlds around what my players are interested in and interweave them into the larger story. The advantage of small parties is that I can really spend the time and narrative energy on each character's relationship to one another and the story. I love character growth and take every opportunity to foster it. I am a cooperative DM, I don't hold things close to the chest. This isn't my story, its ours. I'm not the biggest fan of edge lord characters or perfect paragons. I like PCs who are mostly well intentioned, if flawed, and a bit in over their heads. I have a homebrew setting that I'd love to explore with a couple of enthusiastic players, but I also would like to revisit Dragon Heist or Curse of Strahd if that is the preference. I'd also be happy to create a new world, starting small and growing out around the players.  I prefer playing levels 1-10 or 12ish because I'm more interested in overcoming adversity than power fantasies. When it comes to homebrew rules, I don't use many, and in fact don't user many of the common ones (I don't use flanking and a potion is an action). I have in the past added some homebrew rules mid campaign to patch up reoccurring problems, but only after workshopping them with the affected PCs. One thing that I have used to success is the Side Kick rules. I used them in both Curse of Strahd and Waterdeep to great success. In both games I had two players who also controlled a Sidekick in combat. My Adhd brain sometimes causes me to be unprepared, but I'm a good improvisor. other times it can make me obsess over the game a bit but I don't burden players with that. I enjoy doing voices, but my range of accents is limited (mosly "vaguely foreign" or some variation of southern). I'm ok with Romance but if I start to feel awkward I'll laugh it off and say so. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly. I'm always ready to face criticism maturely, and prepared for an amicable split if anyone isn't having fun. My schedule is a bit tight, I work teach Middle School during the day (m-f) and work as a store clerk at night (m-th) but I'm open on Friday's after 4 CT (5 your time) so a game from 7 to 9 your time works fine for me. I'm also on summer break right now so I am free during the day week round. I send you a friend request on Discord (Whiskeyjack), if you are interested DM me there. I probably won't be back on roll20 for a while. in any case, i hope you find the game you are looking for, one Forever DM to another.
