Update 7/19: We found a Dungeon Master for our Friday night! Game: D&D 5e Location: Online, Roll20! Experience: New (First game!) Timezone: Eastern Time Date/Time: July 21st (This Friday!) 7:30pm - 11:00pm Game style: Casual but I want to get a real feel for DND. I'm good with normal rules like using rations, encumberment, etc. Short, one shot campaign that can fit in the 3.5 hour timeline. I have no preference on which campaign we run but I'd prefer it set in the DND universe. I think an adventure out in the wild (dungeon, forest, etc.) would be fun instead of the first campaign being in a city setting. In general I'm looking for a fun, heroic, light-hearted adventure to get a feel for DND. Let's not go down a horror-filled rabbit hole. Level 1 characters 2 player Campaign ( Druid and Wizard ) Voice Chat: Yes Video/Webcam: No About Us: My wife and I are in our 30's and neither one of us has played DND before We both have our characters created (using dndbeyond) and are ready to play Although we haven't played DND before we've been playing MMORPG's and other games (Divinity: Original Sin 2 is great!) for years and feel very comfortable exploring fantasy worlds, solving puzzles, and going on adventures. I think we'll be able to pick up the basics of DND quickly and that should help with the short campaign What we're looking for in a GM/DM: Respect the start/end times. The end times are hard stops so I'd really like to start on time. We'll show up ready to jump right in and I hope you do the same! Ability to create a fun and enjoyable player experience Patience. We're going to need guidance with some basic things as we find our footing in the game world Be able to guide us and give advice when needed or when we make a mistake, but don't try to play for us Be respectful Your previous DM experience (or lack thereof) doesn't matter to me. As long as you believe you can run this campaign and teach new players, then I'm happy. Closing Thoughts: We are excited to start our first campaign and I think with the right DM we're all going to have a great time. We're laid back and enjoy a good laugh but don't let us being new to the game fool you, we're quick on our feet so be ready for us to throw you a curve ball or two during this run. What's that mean?
