D&D5E - DM Forming Group - New Players - Lost Mines of Phandelver - Weeknights PT

Hey folks, This is coming right on the heels of an EST post by Ryan B .; the 3-hour time difference gets messy on weeknights, so I'm launching an ad for Pacific/Mountain/West Coast timezones. I'll follow Ryan's model: essentially, I'd like to organize a run through the D&D Starter Set for newish players. Details below. When: Tuesday-Friday availability, weekly sessions in the evening (roughly between the hours of 7 and 10 PM PT/MT). This will be decided as a group. Start Date : TBD. After the group forms, we should have a session for introducing ourselves, establishing the schedule, and building characters/learning the system. Spots Available: 5 spots open in the party; there are also 5 pregenerated characters available. Looking For: New players, mainly. I'm fine with experienced players as well; but I'm interested in introducing a mostly disassociated group of new players to roleplaying. Adventure: As per the title, I'd like to run the Lost Mines of Phandelver, which is the Starter Set adventure. You can run either the pre-generated quick characters in that Starter Set, or create your own using the D&D Basic Rules or the Player's Handbook . If things work out, I'm more than willing to run Hoard of the Dragon Queen or other adventures. About myself: I have a fair bit of experience with D20 systems and DMing, with systems including 3.5, 4E, Pathfinder, 13th Age and 5E. I work an 8-5, so weeknights are my best bet for availability. Notes: 1. This will be casual and relaxed. It should be about having fun above all else. 2. This will not be about min/maxing or creating ideal character builds, but creating the character you want. 3. When you sign up for an adventure, you are making a commitment to the other players in your group that you will show up. I understand, life happens, schedules change, you lose interest, you don't like the group, whatever the reason, just let the rest of us know. 4. I have a fair bit of experience with Roll20 and access to Mentor feature, so we may end up implementing them. 5. Voice communication via Skype is required. Video isn't required, but I tend to encourage it. If this sounds like something you may be interested in, reply or send me a PM. I will keep this updated. -Chris
Ive been interested in trying out 5e. Im on mountain time and should be available tuesday-friday. I have experience dming 4e but this would be my first time playing a character. Ive made one already using the handbook. Stat buy and "optional feature" rules. (A human rogue charlatan with a ranged combat style). hopefully we can get a group going. Let me know!
i'd be up for this, i'm free monday-tues-thursday anytime weeknight no experince with 5e but familiar with 3.5/PF and someother stuff
Hi :) I'm new to roll20 and RPing games in general. I have played a little of 3.5 and other than that I've only played FATE games. So I would love to try my hand at this, especially since it looks like you are gearing it towards players who don't have a lot of dnd knowledge / experience. I'm 23years old if that makes a difference and free most any night starting at 7pm Pacific time. I'm somewhat familiar with gameplay but would definitely love some help creating a PC. And I have Skype so no worries there. So ya let me know and hope to hear from you soon!
I'd like to join up. I'm pretty much free all those nights and have really been trying to get into some 5e. I got a handbook so i'd probably just be making my own character.
Hey, I'm interested in playing, I'm relatively new to D&D all together, have a few months of 4e experience, but have recently been learning 5e. I'm available for the the time, I get home from work at 5pm PST so this works out well for me.
I'm interested in joining. This will be my 2nd time playing D&D, the first being an ongoing 5e campaign of Hoard of the Dragon Queen. That game is schedule for Wednesday nights. Other then that I am free any other weekday night & free all weekend. I'd be interested in playing a wizard or anything else the group requires. Ideally I would want to play something besides a cleric since that is what I am playing in my other game. I have a webcam & mic, Skype, and I am familiar with roll20.
I didnt realize i wasnt the only person on this site one the west coast! i would like to play and am available thursday through monday. i am moderately experienced although i have not played 5e yet.
Hey folks-- as an update, I've had a decent influx of prospective players either message or post in here. I'll try to go through them all by today and have some answers ready.
Also interested. Have regular availability on tuesdays, any other day would depend if i get scheduled at work or not.
