Ongoing perf issues

For the last few weeks my game has suffered severe performance issues, to the point where having roll20 open slows down perf on other sites and programs. Very laggy when moving around the map or moving tokens. I've scoured the forums here and tried everything I've seen (removing characters, shrinking maps, clearing cache, etc etc) with little-to-no apparent change. Are their any other tips&tricks to investigate what's going on? My players are suffering the same thing.
There are many recent comments re these issues. Very powerful PCs with high end GPUs struggle with Roll20 now. Each week this seems to be worsening. I have now switched off UDL. Stopped using intergrated voice and video (gone back to zoom) and there are still issues There is a serious issue with Roll20 now, this platform is becoming unusable apart for very basic things - and many other plaforms can do this better.
I've fixed mine by going to Firefox. Completely resolved. But couldn't get anything to make a difference on Chrome.

Glad switching to Firefox worked for you, Stephen D. Do any of the following troubleshooting steps (from the Help Center, published Aug 11) help at all with the lag on Chrome? https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/articles/12637048593303-Performance-Issues-Steps-to-Troubleshoot-Lag#nordvpn-s-threat-protection--0-1
Sadly no. I've tried incognito, whitelisting for ad-blockers, and double-checking hardware acceleration. Firefox runs things perfectly, but I can't get Chrome to an acceptable state.
Something was changed in Chrome back around version 106-108 that caused Roll20 to absolutely hammer my machine, tried everything I could think of and in the end tried switching to Firefox, instantly better, CPU dropped by 15% and GPU dropped by 20-25% - this on on an 8yr old I7 Win10 box with 16Gb RAM and intel integrated graphics. Now happily running with UDL, new video chat and maps varying from 25x25 to about 80x40. I'd recommend staying away from Chrome any Chrome derived browser (Edge, Vivaldi, Brave etc)
i agree, i have the same issues with lag. especially once you start to import multiple tokens
Another thing I've noticed is that the dark mode doesn't work well on Brave and Chrome
Safari has major log in issues, and won't actually load a campaign
in Brave I cannot in either light or dark mode on, i cannot see what colors of squares/shapes i draw, same for auras.
I wish Firefox would be able to integrate with Beyond20 plug in because it would solve a lot of problems
I run a basic public API that sets health circle around a token and turns from green>orange>red to indicate the health of a token. since then, i cannot use auras on the pre-defined token and have to make it unnamed.

Hi Tristan! It would be better if you were to post these in their own thread, since this one is about performance lag, and is would give your issues more focus and not distract from the purpose of this one, but I'll quickly go through your posts: Brave, Edge and Safari are not supported by Roll20. If they work, great! go ahead and use them. But if they don't, Roll20 doesn't address those issues. What issues are you running into with Dark Mode on Chrome? Many of these are dependent on the sheet authorship, but some are endemic to Roll20. Screen shots might help as there may be workarounds. Aura/Tint Health Colors has some config commands that might help reduce the issues you are having with it. The documentation might help you discover those. I don't use it anymore because I use auras for other things. If you want to pursue any of these things, please open a new thread. There are lots of helpful folk here!
