Hell Map Pack

September 03 (1 year ago)

I bought a Hell Map Pack, this one:

https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/24514/hell-maps
And I didn't realize until after I bought it that it's just art that gets added to your Premium Assets Library and you need to create the maps yourself. This isn't what I was looking for. Is there a way to return it?

Then I was looking at this Hell Map Pack:

https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/bundle/25126/hell-bundle
And I want to buy it because it looks a lot more comprehensive for what I'm looking for, but, I'm not sure if it's just more art or if it's actually maps I can add to my game via the Game Addons section. How can I tell?

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Eric,

Here is Roll20's Refund Policy.

As for how you can tell, every product states how to use it. In the Hell Maps case it is this line:
"This is available in the Premium Assets section of the Art Library of all your games."

Hi Eric!

The standalone product descriptions tell you what they are:

This is available in the Premium Assets section of the Art Library of all your games.

That tells you that they are an Art Pack, standalone items that live in your Art Library. An Addon or Module would typically tell you that they can be added to or used to create a brand new game, and would often let you know that the maps are dynamically lit. To get a refund on a purchase, you can check out the Roll20 refund policy. It's pretty robust.

Thanks for the help here.

I was looking for maps and it seems like these are just art. Darn.

How do you define a map vs. art? Few of those look like they would need dynamic lighting, it would be a matter of creating a new page, setting the dimensions to 30x40/40x30 and dropping that 'art' on the map layer.

They are recent enough; just dragging them to the map layer triggers auto-sizing.
