Profit! ----------------------------------------- Take part in this classic Dungeons and Dragons adventure, for player characters level 1 through 5! Journey along the Sword Coast of the Forgotten Realms - a timeless setting of fantastic races, brave warriors, cunning magi, and of course the darker aspects such a world entails. Not too far afield of the famed city of Neverwinter, our heroes find themselves on the road to the village of Phandalin. And the trouble begins before they even get there - a goblin ambush, the discovery that a friend of the party was taken captive, and the discovery of an ancient, long lost mine. And that, my friends, is only in the first part of the module. Players are allowed to conceive their own reasons for venturing to Phandalin, or the DM can supply a plot hook as needed for those who wish to be subject to the narrative! Battle brigands, put together the pieces to discover the bigger picture behind the scenes, and disrupt the powers that be which would cast your characters aside as sacrifices for their success! Can you put a stop to the goblin raids and quell some of the most menacing, classic monsters known to Faerûn? Mostly because I'd like to be able to afford more sourcebooks and material on Roll20 and DnD Beyond! I've played in this campaign twice before and am happy to be running it for the first time ever! Safe to say we'll be using the module as a sort of guide rail. That is to say - the module will be utilized, but as any DM knows the best content comes not from WOTC but from you - the players! How your characters deal with both the established and unique challenges that come their way will change how this world operates! Expect both module-based and individual character arc engagement! I operate with five main rules in mind! First, the module is only a guideline. Rule two is that "flavor is free", so long as it doesn't change mechanics~ Rule three is that roleplay is king - if your character has some epic monologue or witty retort, who cares if speech is supposed to be within the 6 seconds per round? That leads to rule four: have fun! And rule five is simply this: don't make anyone else feel unwelcome or uncomfortable! Bells and Whistles: And for those wondering, I do try to create a unique atmosphere both with compelling verbal detail and inspiring, atmosphere-appropriate background music during a majority of scenes with numerous music track options from ambient, mood-setting music to ribald tavern songs~ I also provide high-quality visual references pulled from various sources (and credit appropriately) for the "faceclaims" of NPCs.
