The charactermancer just stops working

I keep trying to make a monster slayer ranger character and no matter what I do the charactermancer fails to work past a certain level, getting stuck on the "Building your character" screen. I have deleted and remade the character several times, but when I try going above level 5 it does this.

Hi Hell dnd,  It sounds like some option is causing it to hang. Could you supply details of your build? Everything you can would be helpful.
Level 1 -  Neutral good,  Variant Human, ASIs to dex and con, I've tried chainging the skill profs every time I've made the character, I've picked different humanoid favored enemies every time (i.e. elf, dwarf, human, dragonborn, etc), favored terrain forest, I go with standard array for stats, folk hero background for carpenter tools prof, gunner feat. Level 2 - Average HP, Fighting style archery, hail of thorns and hunter's mark Level 3 - Average HP, Cure wounds Level 4 - Average HP, Subclass Monster Slayer, ASI Dex and Con,  Level 5 - Average HP, Silence  For level 6, I try to average HP again, pick 2 more humanoid races for favored enemy, and pick desert for fav terrain. But it just never lets me level up to 6 at this point. Trying to level up several levels at once doesn't work either. I need to get this character to level 8.

I haven't dragged anything from compendium or added anything manually.

I can reproduce this -- (macOS Firefox 121.0, no extensions). I don't have Tasha's so I used Sharpshooter instead of Gunner. I suspect the culprit is picking humanoids for favored enemy twice.  Might want to send in a  Help Request  so the devs can look at it.

I tried again, but picking dragons as the second favored enemy choice. Doesn't seem to help.

I did some testing, it appears that if you have selected Humanoid as your favored enemy, either as the initial choice or as part of a levelup it breaks it when you select a second favored enemy upon levelup.  Example:  Initial choice: humanoid, you pick two.  Levelup: you pick Dragons result: it breaks Initial choice: you pick Dragons Levelup: Humanoid, you pick two result: it breaks  Initial choice: anything but humanoid Levelup: anything but humanoid result: it works Based on this my suggestion is to pick non-humanoid options, then just edit your character sheet and replace them with humanoid.  Although frankly? I never liked those options anyhow and I don't use them. I prefer Favored Foe instead. :D I would file a bug report with the Devs via the Help Center and let them know.

Hi Dungeon Captain Steve,  The posts above predate the DDOS attacks. If your players are having an issue with the Charactermancer it could be independent of the DDOS attacks, or it could be resulting from it.  Could you elaborate on the problem your players are having? When is the charactermancer failing?
