Fog of War Tutorial suggestion

New to Roll20 and am trying to figure out how to DM a group of 9 year olds. looking at it to try and help a group of younger players visualize distance and terrain. I could not figure out how to make the fog of war work. I found a post from 10 years ago that mentioned turning on fog of war on the map page and that was the piece I was missing. Might be worth adding a similar mention to the tutorial. I think the platform is great so far and I'm excited to get into it more.

Hi board2death,  The best way to reach the Devs is via the Help Center . With certain exceptions, the forums are primarily for users helping users.  As for turning it on, any attempt to use it (via the toolbar) will provide a popup that asks if you want to turn it on.
Thanks Gauss, I never saw a pop up, in fact the menu items were actually different before I enabled it on the page(see image). After I enabled it, then disabled it and did as you suggested and tried to use FOW with it disabled, I got a popup asking if I wanted to enable it.  Menu before: Menu After:

That is because you had Dynamic Lighting turned on, which supercedes and replaces Fog of War.  I am guessing you are not the campaign owner? Dynamic Lighting is a paid feature.

Hmm, I am the campaign owner, (free account). I am still trying to figure out the Tool, so created a game with an available module and invited myself to the game so I could see both sides. Dynamic lighting shows locked to me(as it should). Creating a new game reverts to the dynamic lighting menu in the first image so maybe that's just the default?  either way I think I'm good and thank you for the explanation.

That is odd, it doesn't do that for my free account (my dummy account). Is this a pre-purchased module?
it is one of the free D&D modules(masters Vault)
Check your page settings see if dynamic lighting is on or if it's just set to fog of war.
